hi, I have been looking and comparing you (compassion) to world vision. as I see world vision is not a Christian site there fore I stick with compassion, but I have a relative that sponsors through world vision and I saw their packets and what they give to sponsors and I am disappointed to see that there is a lot of information that world vision gives out compared to you. for instance: vision gives out annual reports done by the child about the child.

2. on the site there are videos from almost all of the children.

now please note that I love my child very much and I would never not sponsor her for another child somewhere else. this would be more of an addition for what I was looking at. .

I would just like you all to please consider the things listed above. and suggestion two is something I have kind of already suggested along with many other people.

World Vision most definitely is a Christian organization. I think there are great reasons to sponsor from either organization but obviously both operate differently and have different "sponsorship perks". While we do not get annual reports about the child, we do get updates every 18-24 months.
I do agree videos would be cool and am encouraged by the responses from Compassion reps that in the future this will be more common :)
I would love to invite you to the child sponsorship forums. We have people from Compassion, World Vision and many other organizations! We chat about our sponsorship experiences, our sponsor kids letter ideas, child visits and much more

Addyson, I am so sorry that you are disappointed with the information that Compassion provides about your child and sponsorship. Please know that we appreciate you bringing up your concerns with us and are currently working towards improving both of your suggestions above. Compassion recognizes that different organizations will have a variety of procedures and systems that differ from our own. Currently, it is not possible for us to have videos of every child nor to give annual updates on every child due to the limitations of our systems. I want to assure you that Compassion is continuing to move forward with updating these systems. Because we must not only update our systems in the United States but also implement these changes in each country we work in; it is a process that does take some time to complete with efficiency and while upholding stewardship and integrity.

I certainly understand the time frame for us to implement these changes is difficult as we also are anxiously anticipating these exciting changes to our ministry. Never underestimate the power of your continued prayer and support. Our focus is and always will be, to remain on our core mission: releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. We appreciate the difference you and each of our wonderful sponsor's are making in the lives of children all over the world. God is working through you to minister to the hearts of His precious children. As such, we want to continue improving our ministry in ways that will allow you to have an even more intimate and personal relationship with your child.
