I called on 1/13/17 and discussed the situation in India. Alan is supposed to be removed and a new child added. I wanted to know how long this might take? Thanks

Hi John! We are currently in the middle of updating our system, so it may take up to two weeks for us to process the change you've requested. The representative you spoke with made note on your account to find a new child for you as soon as we are able to process information in the new system. We will follow up with you once we have taken care of it for you.

John, the department that handles transferring funds and issuing refunds is currently backlogged by about a month. Issuing a refund would not be faster, and would actually most likely end up taking more time. I know this is frustrating, but please try to hang in here with us while we work to get caught up.

Why do I keep reading other post where other people are told they will get a refund in the next week or so, who have only been waiting for a week or so? Either this is not true or why is my account taking so long?

John, I get upset and impatient all the time and so I can relate to you being upset, but do you see the irony in getting upset and implying that people are lying when the matter is supporting children in poverty in Jesus' name? I believe everyone at Compassion is working as hard as they can and doing the best that they can do under the circumstances. Right now, I think, there are about 145,000 sponsorships to transfer or issue refunds for so even if Compassion can process 1,000 a day it would still take 145 days. Organizations can't plan for situations like this because it's impossible. Let's try to be encouraging and supportive during this difficult time. We're all on the same team here. I'm sure your account will be sorted out soon.

Hi John! I see that instead of selecting to have your funds refunded back to your personal account, you had elected to move those funds to provide family gifts for your children. Processing refunds to our sponsors is not as backlogged as transferring funds. That is why your transfer request is just taking a bit longer. However, I do agree with you that this is taking a bit longer than expected, so I do want you to know that I sent an inquiry to that department to see what the hold up is. I will keep you posted on what we find out! Have a great day!

John, perhaps if you don't want the input of sponsors (who are trying to be helpful), you would be more comfortable contacting Compassion privately instead of on an open and public forum.

I don't mind someone being helpful, I don't need someone trying to idolize compassion or defend compassion when I'm trying to get information . He did not answer my question, nor did I ask for his opinion. I think I will keep it private in the future so I don't have to hear from the groupies. I use compassion to help children in need. I expect and hold them to a higher standard. If compassion is no longer able to fulfill this then I will find another company. I have been waiting for far to long to have this money given to these needy families. I don't use compassion to get their or your approval. Respond only by email.
