India has cancelled the registration of nearly 9,000 foreign-funded NGOs saying they have failed to comply with rules. Does this affect Compassion?

Debbie, that means "non-governmental organization." Basically, a charity working in a foreign country.

Hi everyone! We confirmed with our offices in India on this. While it is true that 9,000 non-governmental organizations (NGO's) currently have their bank accounts frozen by the government of India due to improper reporting, Compassion is not affected. This article mentioned us in error. Compassion is still in full operation within India at this time.

I suggest Compassion write to the publisher and ask them to rectify the article. It wrongly gives bad publicity to readers, especially Indian people whom Compassion are trying to help! (See also the comments below that article.)
