Please tell me what happens now to my sponsored children in India? I have three. Also, I don't want my account debited if my sponsorship is ended now. Please let me know how to change that.

Hi Jen, I am another sponsor and my understanding is the churches will still try to help because they have learned a lot over the years.  Some that  have Compassion graduates that perhaps still attend and have jobs and support their church will be able to help more.  Some churches that are in very poor areas and were newer projects will have more trouble financially helping the poor. This is truly a very bad situation and I really hope our country officials will keep trying to change this policy of the government of India.  I do still help in a small organization over there but who knows how long I will be able to do that?  The pastor I know there sent me a video of two women of lower caste that tried to get some water, higher caste people ripped all (yes all) their clothing off of them and beat them.  This government of India policy has made the upper castes more bold in attacking the lower caste people!

Jen, we are so heartbroken over this whole situation in India. The local churches were there before Compassion and will continue to do what they can to serve their own people. Your Indian children will fall off of your account in the coming weeks. I have stopped your automatic withdrawal to be sure. This is a unique situation so please do let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

If you would like to sponsor other children, please do so whenever you are ready and use the drop down menu in checkout to indicate "India Sponsor - Selecting my next child."

Jen, not sure if you are aware that you can transfer all the India funds you have paid from your April 2016 payments through what ever payments you have made in 2017 to another child.  I transferred mine to one of my other kids in another country.
