I had raised my hand to get a packet to sponsor a child at last nights Fish Fest, but I wanted to wait and discuss this opportunity with my mom. Unfortunately at this time neither of us have the financial means to support Maria from Nicaragua. I am unemployed and my mom is on Disability. My heart is breaking for her and I am literally crying for her because I wanted to give her the greatest present for her birthday. Do I send the packet back to Compassion International so that she has a shot with another person?

Melissa, the packets have an expiration date, at which point, she will be back on the website, or at another event. There is no need to send it back.

Melissa, you can also call the 800 number that is on the info card and let Compassion know. That way, she can be put back into the system as quickly as possible.

Hi Melissa,
Thank you so much for reaching out to us! We truly appreciate your heart to want to help this sweet child, Maria. Please know that we would be very blessed to partner with you in the future if you ever feel you are able to! :)
As mentioned above, you do not need to worry about sending her child packet back. You are welcome to call and let someone know if you would like, or give me the child number and I can make sure she goes back up for sponsorship right away! :)
