Our kids are interested in sponsoring, but I was wondering if it was possible to sponsor a set of siblings. I didn't see that as an option.... Any insight would be appreciated!

Frequently only 1 child is sponsored per family to spread the benefit as far as possible through the community. However they do sometimes make exceptions if there is still room in a center or if there are a set of twins in a family. I call the 800 number and put in a special request. Or if you want to search online I have seen pairs of twins come up most commonly in Togo. West Africa has the highest twinning rate in the world.

Oh and if you couldn't find siblings you might just consider 2 kids from the same project. You can search by project and they could both pick a child their age.

Brad, you can sponsor siblings. I have thought about it on occasion when I have seen siblings come up. When there are siblings available it means the family is in even greater need. I am not sure that Compassion has a way to search for siblings. Is anyone in your family on Facebook? There are a couple of Compassion Forums (private for the kids safety) and I have no doubt the sponsors on there would love to help find your kids some siblings. I will keep my eyes open as well. What age range and gender(s) will be best?

Hello Brad! I love that you're getting your own kids involved in sponsorship and completely understand your desire to support siblings in our program. Although we do have a search option for children with siblings in our system, it only shows us children that also have a sibling in the program and not when both siblings are unsponsored. After several minutes of searching for a pair of siblings for you, each child I found in our program that also had a sibling registered, the sibling was already being sponsored by someone else.
I am so sorry for this inconvenience but you might consider what Andrea mentioned and either look on our website to see if you come across any or maybe sponsor two children from the same project (which we can certainly help you do).
I will be praying that God leads you to two children who are in great need that your own kiddos would have the opportunity to build a great friendship with!

Hello again, Brad! Do you have a specific preference on age, gender, or country that you would like to support siblings in? Siblings being registered in our program together is rare and although I cannot guarantee we will have siblings available that fit your specific request at this time, I would be happy to do some further research for you. I will do my best to find children that your kids would like to sponsor :).

If you watch the children available on the Compassion website for awhile you will eventually find twins. In fact sometimes there are several sets of twins on there at the same time. You just have to have a little patience and watch somewhat regularly.

Awww, these two are soooo cute!! Thank you, Erin, for sharing. I actually already sponsor a little girl in Honduras so I was thinking of maybe sponsoring from a different country, but I don't know if I can turn these two down :)! If you come across any others, please do share. Hilary, if God is pulling at your heart for these two lovely cuties, please don't hold back on my account :).

I definitely wish I could, but I don't think I could add 2 at this moment :). But Honduras is my favorite country to sponsor in and most of my kids are from there. And 9 is my favorite age to sponsor haha. Someday I will sponsor twins in Honduras <3

Roxanne, just because I love seeing kids get sponsored... I correspond with another girl at that center (HO206) and am planning to visit the center in August. I'd be happy to take small gifts for you and try to meet the twins if you're able to sponsor them!

I do not sponsor a child in Togo as of yet...these two might be the right two for me! For some reason the idea of boy/girl twins never crossed my mind! Currently I have children in Burkina Faso, Ecuador, Honduras, Kenya, and Indonesia, so I would like to sponsor from a different country. I actually live in Canada and sponsor through Compassion Canada, but they should probably be able to locate these two in Togo through the US system if I called in and asked, you think? I may try calling in and see what they can tell me. Thanks for finding these two, Athena!
Erin, is there any possibility you might be visiting 264 while you are in Honduras? I sponsor a 6-year old girl there. I was hoping to go visit her in about a year's time, but I keep getting more and more nervous about planes! ( :( ).

Roxanne, actually, it would be best if you go through the sponsorship on the US site and then request to have the sponsorship transferred to Compassion Canada. When you call, the representative will not be able to handle the sponsorship for you since the children are listed on the website. However, they would be able to help you to transfer the sponsorship to Compassion Canada. Also, you can make sure and scoop up these two before anyone else does! :)

Thanks, Susan! Do you mean it's best to sponsor them "on-line" or to call the US office directly? And would it be the Canada or the US office that I call to request a transfer? Thanks for your help!

Hi Roxanne! I apologize for any misunderstanding. It's best if you actually go through the sponsorship process through the website. Once you sponsor the children, it can take a couple of days for your request to process and an account be created for you. Give us a call and our representatives in the Compassion USA office will be able to begin the process for transferring your sponsorship over to Compassion Canada.

Did you sponsor the twins in Togo? I have a 12 year old boy there and he is AWESOME! And - he is a twin! But his brother has another sponsor. I did not know he was a twin until I received his first letter!

I did, yes!! It's so exciting! I wrote them both on the computer yesterday introducing myself. Is your 12 yr old from the same project, Nina? TG121.

Here's another set of twins (girl-girl) at that same project in Togo (TG121) if anyone is interested.
