So I have been sponsoring two children, one has been an year, and the second one for about half of an year. I started it when I am in US but I am about to move to the different country very soon. I am originally from there so that will be something permanent. I am going to close all of my US bank account and credit cards. I really really do not want to end my sponsorship and when I checked its seems like compassion only has 2 options for payment : card or bank account. I am moving to South Korea and I know you guys have organization there too. Is there any way that you guys can transfer my account to South Korean department or something? I really do not want to finish sponsorship nor change to different kids.

Hi Jeong! I definitely understand wanting to keep your precious kiddos when you move back to your home country. The good news is that we can transfer your USA sponsorships to our South Korean office. You will be able to keep your two sweet boys! To request this change, we will need some more information. Please email us at with your new address in South Korea, your new phone number, and your new email if you are changing it. As soon as we receive your email, we will send the country transfer request for you. Thank you so much for giving all your love and support to Jose and Farel! Have a blessed day.

Hello, my family has a similar situation. We currently sponsor three children, and will be moving in a few months from the US to Germany, probably to stay for several years. I have already been in touch with the Compassion headquarters in Marburg and they say that it's possible to switch our sponsorships to the German office. Is this what would be recommended for us? Currently, we do not speak German, and most of the materials are in that language. Though we will be working in Germany and have accounts there, we will also be keeping a bank account open in the US. How would you suggest that we proceed?

Hi David! Compassion USA services donors from all around the world. We have many supporters who live in Germany or other places for a time but give through Compassion USA. If you are planning on coming back to the US at some point (even if it is several years in the future), don't have a German bank account or credit card, and do not speak German, I normally recommend that you stay with the US office and just manage your account online. Otherwise, you will have to donate in Euros and receive materials in German.
