I checked the blogs and was curious if the updates to the letter system is complete yet. You might want to think about posting so, if that is the case!

Is there going to be any retroactive fixes to previous letters? For example, I have a letter from December to our child that says "Translating" and then one from our child in January that isn't able to be clicked on and viewed. I had been able to ask for the letter from our child and get it emailed to me, but I'd still like to be able to read them online. What's more, our child was writing to "sponseru" and not our names, which made me wonder if they had received any of our letters yet. I follow your blog and you've convinced me to write monthly; as many have expressed here, knowing that the relationship is real makes a meaningful difference. Regarding online,I love the idea of having all the letters in one place online, and so it would be very nice if all the issues that had come up the last year of upgrading the system would be fully resolved.

On a side note, I unfortunately was not able to convince my church to do a Compassion Sunday. They were very interested, but I was honest about all the issues with the letters, and they told me to keep an eye on it and if it gets better maybe we can do it next year. I've had individuals who I tried to get sign up ask me if the issues are resolved, and when I tell them no, I think it is a turn off. I hate delivering that message because the work is so good and necessary!

Thanks again for all you do!

Good morning William,

I completely understand your frustration with our letter system, and furthermore all the bugs that we have been dealing with over the transition into the new system. I honestly do understand why your church would decide to hold off for a Compassion Sunday.

Furthermore, we are still in the midst of fixing those bugs. All of the letters online will be fixed eventually, and all will be updated so that you have a complete record of your letters online. The one thing that will not be changed is the way the child addressed you on the letter, as the letter has already been written. However, moving forward this will be updated, as well. If you continue to get letters that do not address you by name, please let us know and we will be happy to look further into why your child does not address you correctly.

Thanks for sticking with us as we go through these upgrades. I am confident that when all is worked out, the new system will be able to serve both our children and supporters much better!

Have a blessed day!
