So I just read in another forum that the kids can only send up to 6 letters a year. I mean that's a lot for some kids but others might want to send more. Is this true?

Hi Kaitlynn! The children actually can send more than six letters a year, if they have the desire to write more. We mostly set a limit for expectation purposes. We have such a variation in the amount that sponsors write so that some sponsors don't write at all (which makes it even more tough for the kids to think of what to say) and then there are some sponsors who write several letters every month (in these cases it is nearly impossible for the staff and children to keep up with responding to each letter). This is why we have a minimum of two letters a year if their sponsor does not write to them and a limit of six letters a year if their sponsor does write to them. We prefer to set the expectation that sponsors will not receive more than the six letters a year even if they write more than that. Then if you do receive more than that it will just be an added blessing. :)
