Hi Joshua, I am another sponsor and there are a couple of ways to do it. If it is a minor issue you could send a family gift. We are allowed to send up to 1k per year to the family. There is a fee to send the money because it does cost a bit. For Compassion to send it and have the employees of the church help the family use the money. There is also a medical intervention fund and you can donate to that to help If it is an expensive issue. Is this something you just found out through a letter? Or is it listed in his information? If it is listed in his information I would ask the child (and his family) about it. Our letters are going to be a lot faster as of Aprill 11. The turn around time will be as short as six to eight weeks! If the child mentioned it in a letter you can do an inquiry. Take a picture of the letter and send a copy to the email: socialmedia@compassion.com and you can ask them to check on your child and they will let you know about the situation. Hope your child will be okay!

Hi Joshua! Denise is absolutely correct. Thank you so much for your care and concern for your new child Bavoke! We are so grateful that you want to help him get the assistance he needs. I do want to encourage you that he was registered into our program last year and as soon as he was registered, our staff were made aware of the issues he had with his vision. Our records indicate that when he was registered, our staff made the decision to cover the costs for him to have surgery because it was found that this would improve his vision and is what he was needing. It's very possible that he already had his surgery and is recovering or possibly already fully recovered! :)

We can certainly check up on him to see how his surgery went and how he's doing now. I see that you received your first letter from him. Did he mention anything about his vision in his letter to you? If he did, please send a copy of that letter to the email address that Denise provided so that I can us the information in his letter to ask our staff about what else is being done to assist him currently. If not, let me know and I'll go ahead and send an inquiry to our office staff to check up on how his surgery went :).

Thanks so much! That's the best news I've gotten all day :) Strangely enough, I haven't gotten a letter from him yet.... Would it be in the online portal, or in a physical mailing?
Thanks again for all you do.

Joshua, I am so sorry you have not heard from him quite yet. Once Bavoke sends you a letter, you will receive both a physical mailing and the letter will also show up on your online account. We will go ahead and request an update on how Bavoke is doing now and whether or not he had surgery. As soon as we hear back, in approximately forty-five days, we will notify you with the news.

My child has a vision problem on his left eye as well. Could you check if he has ever done surgery or if his vision is getting better please?
Wogayehu (ET7110224)

Thank you!
