I have some paper dolls for one of my children and I wanted to laminate them so they may last a little longer. There are some other things, such as flowers leaves etc., I would send in the future that would be laminated. Are laminated items acceptable?

If I send my child's items in an envelope(8.5x11), inside a larger envelope for mailing to CO, do the items and decorated envelope get sent to my child as a package?

Hi Suzanne! Yes, you are welcome to laminate your paper items to help them to last longer for your child. The answer to your second question would be yes. The reason why we do not send outer envelopes is because we do not want your return address to be sent to your child. However, if you enclose a decorated envelope inside of a larger envelope addressed to Compassion, we will send the decorated envelope to your child.

tell me suzanne, how will your child keep the laminated paper doll clothes on the laminated doll?  i thought the same thing, but can't figure out how the clothes will stay on as the tabs won't work if laminated!  hope this worked for you as I think it would be a fun treat.  hope to hear back.  sharon stanley

I used velcro dots to keep the dolls together. It took more of one than the other so you waste a couple of velcro dots. But it was the best way I could do it.

Hi Suzanne!  Did the velcro on the paper dolls make it through for you?  I just made a set for each of my girls, but I'm so worried that the velcro won't make it through customs!  Thanks!

Hi Bonnie! We are able to send Velcro dots so you are welcome to use them on your paper dolls. :)
