I've been writing faithfully but have slacked off a tad the past month, which is not related to my husbands and my concern over the fact that we havent received any letters from either of our children or even an update from their leadership in their respective areas. We are very sensitive to the fact that mail can be slow, however, it's been months with nothing, not even a newsletter... not what we had in mind honestly...

hi! I'm not Compassion staff, but I saw your post and figured I'd let you know that Compassion is closed for the weekend and they'll answer you on Monday or Tuesday.  If it's been 6 months they will send an inquiry out for you to find out what's going on and to get a letter for you.  (It could take 6-8 weeks or so for them to hear back from the country though).  If it is a financially sponsored child and you are expecting your very first letter from them, they will check into it even if it's only been 4 months since you sponsored them, but if you've had a letter in the past or it's a correspondent child it'll be at the 6 month mark.

And thanks for writing to your kids!!!  It means so much to them!  I'm sure you'll hear from them soon :)
With the new website and letter system, letters will start to come faster.  You can log in to your account and see the letters online as soon as they are translated in your child's country!  You can also see if there are letters on the way to you :) The system is VERY new and has some glitches yet that they are fixing.

yes thank you - we've had a couple letters per child already as we have been sponsoring them both for a year and I've written many letters because it's much easier for me to do so than them... my husband and and I are tech savvy and already use the App and website... we are also avid world travelers and are aware how quickly "things can change"... just concerned.

That's great!  I wish I could afford to travel the world!  I'd def. go see all my sponsored kids.  Have you met yours yet?
:) Oh yes, I hear the app is great for that too, but I don't have a cellphone and even if I did it's not available in Canada (where I'm from).  I love the website though :) Just found out I have a letter on it's way from my DR girl as of this morning :)

Laura, I'm so glad Teresa was able to talk to you while we were out of the office over the weekend and after looking through your account, I'm praying that her information helped ease your concerns.

I see that you and your husband have written to each of your precious kiddos, four times! Thank you so much for speaking hope and truth into their lives. I know they love to hear from you and it reminds them that someone cares in them, believes in them, and loves them. The last letter we received from Vishakha was in December. You can expect another letter from her sometime in June. We just recently received a letter for you from Esthefany in March. I know you're eager to hear from her and this letter should be reaching you very soon.

Before we updated to a new system this month, it took 2-3 months for all letters to be delivered back and forth to your child and from your child to your home. This is why you see a few months delay between when you send a letter to your girls and when you receive a response back. It was a very manual process before God opened up the doors for us to vamp up our systems and begin moving letters to and from our countries, digitally! Going forward, when you write a letter to your child online, the turn-a-round time will be weeks instead of months! We understand how valuable the letter relationship is between you and your child and how important it is for these letters to be delivered quickly so that you can stay more up to date on the things happening in their lives. We are so humbled and excited that the travel time is going to be faster with this new system! Thank you so much for your patience with us as we get your letters delivered back and forth, and transition into this new way of communicating letters.

Laura, I also wanted to encourage you that supporters receive a letter from the church pastor, center director, country director or other qualified staff member once a year. The letter will be written by someone who knows our program in your child's country and will provide you with updates and information that you most likely won’t get from your child's letters because it's more to do with the community and the program itself. You can look forward to receiving this and I pray you enjoy it! These individuals care so deeply for the children and love to give sponsors updates on the church and their program.
