I was excited to receive a letter from my sponsored child, but it was not translated in order for me to read it. Is there something that I can safely download a Spanish/English app on my laptop in order to be able to read my child's letter?

Oh no!! That's not right. If you scan a copy and email it to socialmedia@compassion.com they should be able to get that translated for you.

If you don't want to wait that long, you can just use Google translate.  The other way is if you are in the fb Compassion group, you can take a picture of it, and post it.  Plenty of people there that know Spanish, and they will have it done for you in minutes.

Good morning, Dorothy! I'm so sorry you went to read Critzel's letter and it was not translated! We certainly want you to be able to read what your sweet girl wrote to you. I actually have your girls letter on file and am working to get it translated and into your account for you to read. Thanks for your patience as we re-translate this letter for you and it should show up and be read-able for you soon!

Dorothy, I researched your letter further and found it was actually translated but I'm wondering if your My Account pulled the letter and put it online for you without the translation instead of with the translation by mistake. If so, this will be an issue I'll need to pass on to our web team. Can you double check for me that it does not have translation after you log out and log back into your My Account and open it to read it? If you still cannot see the translation, please let me know and we'll work on correcting this.

In the meantime, I have sent the translated letter to your email :). Enjoy!

I just had the same problem - I opened a letter and the only page that would show was the Spanish version. I contacted Compassion through the direct method (email, not this blog) and they just apologized for the web site problems. Although I do have my account set to receive a printout of the letter by mail.

Also, when I went back to see the child letter again, it was totally missing!

Beth, I am so sorry for the issues you are experiencing. I was able to retrieve Manuel's full letter and I am emailing that to you.

All letters are printed off in CO and mailed to you (if you choose to receive a printed copy). This is to cut down on shipping costs and time.

I can print the letters off at home, but still have opted to receive the printed copy. Compassion's printers seem to be MUCH better because the letters I get from there look and feel so much better than what I can print off on any printer I have access too.
