My child Burasakorn (Tay) TH092200280 has a letter to me that has been sitting 'in process' for a while now. Would you mind checking on this letter for me? Thanks so much!!

Hi David! I'm so sorry that it is taking longer than normal for Tay's letter to become available for you :(. This letter is Tay's thank you for the generous gift he received either from you or his financial supporter. This thank you letter was supposed to include a picture because the gift was $60 or more. Sadly, a picture was not attached to this thank you letter, so it was sent back to the field office in Thailand to have this corrected. Please rest assured that this letter will become available for you as soon as our wonderful field staff is able to attach his thank you gift picture and send this letter back to us. Thank you for your patience!

Thank you so much Christina! Wow, I am grateful for his financial supporter sending a gift. Is that common for that to happen.? Wonder why they don't write? Even so, I am grateful for opportunity to speak into Tay's life.

Hi David!
Financial sponsors who have correspondents set up to write do actually often give gifts to their children. This is made pretty easy because they can set up an automatic gift if they so choose. Typically these sponsors love to give and help monetarily, but they cannot write, or choose not to due to time constraints, or just feel that someone else may be better suited to write. Also, we do have lots of companies who sponsor with Compassion and therefore they must choose someone else to write. :)

Good morning David,

I am so sorry to let you know that you no longer see Tay on your account because his student center actually closed, and their was no near-by project available to transfer to. Regrettably this means that he did have to stop attending the Compassion program. I am so sorry. I do see that their is a final letter from him to you, and you are still welcome to send a final letter as well. This letter will need to be handwritten. Please write “Final Letter” across the top of the correspondence, along with your child's name and child's number, (TH092200280). Please send your letter to Compassion's address below:

Compassion International
Colorado Springs, CO 80997

We appreciate the time that you were able to speak into Tay's life, if even just for a short time. I am confident that your words of love and encouragement will be with him for eternity!

Thank you Shannon. It is always sad when you lose a child. I will miss Tay.
I was looking at my letter history before his profile went away and it didn't show a lot a of letters I had written over the last year. Has the project been closed for a while and what was the reason for closing. We had another child in Thailand thru our Sunday School class a while back and her project closed too. Is it because of the culture that they don't abide by the rules of sharing the Gospel?

Good morning David,
I am so glad that you asked this question! This is such a positive closure, and I am so glad that you asked! :) Here are the critical notes from the closure written by the project, which is actually still in process at the moment.
"The church agreed that the support through the sponsorship program will not be necessary to the people in this community anymore since the financial status of the people has been positively improved. Moreover, the children are growing older and they continue to move out of the community for further study in the other area. Thus, the church decided to end the partnership with Compassion but they will keep operating the child ministry by their own context and resources after the project transition. It was such the blessings of God that we could see positive impacts in these children’s lives through the hard work and commitment of the project staff. We know that God will continue to do the good work He has begun."
How wonderful! :)
