I seem to not have many letters this year from any of my children. Some kids I only have 2 letters from for the entire year, and I try to write every month. Is this related to the switch to the online system or are the letters not being written as frequently at the centers?

Hi Andrea,
Since June of this year, I have noticed the slow down due to the new system of online letters stopped.  I regularly receive letters from my kids in Burkina Faso and Bolivia every 2 months.  I write them on average 2x a month. What country?

Well child 1 from Burkina Faso 1 letter this whole year in March. I just got another letter from him but it's a letter from last year that got stuck somewhere.
2nd child from Burkina Faso 2 letters in early part of the year, then 1 in July
1st child from Tanzania 2 letters this year, 1 more recent but only 2 for the year
2nd child from Tanzania is doing better, 3 letters this year with another that is currently pending
child from Guatemala sent me 3 letters in first part of year then nothing from april until august when I got a 4th
my other kids are new so no letters yet

I used to get letters every other month as long as I wrote regularly... I miss getting regular letters. Before the limited to 6 a year I had a boy in Guatemala who wrote me almost 1 a month (excluding around the holiday). I know my kids are real, (I've met most of them) and that they have a lot of other things going on, but I also know they used to write me a lot more. I felt like I was building a relationship and then it just turned into half a letter every 5 months :(

Andrea and Patty, I sincerely apologize for the slow down in letters. You may be aware that we went through a large system upgrade in the last year and a half and then just recently we implemented a new translation software to assist our translators in quick and accurate translation of the letters. This has impacted some of the letters traveling slower than before. As our country offices adjust to the new system and we work through any bugs, you should see letters speed up again in the coming months.

Andrea, I took a look at all of your children's letters just to make sure you are receiving what you should be. Leonia and Samiratou actually have three letters, Josias has four letters, Teddy and Tabu each have one letter, and Esdras has two letters that are somewhere in the process of being written and being translated and processed at the country office. Usama is working on an intro letter (you just got him in August). I trust these letters will begin coming through soon.

All of these letters are in translation and I'm just not seeing them on my end yet? If so that's great news because that would put me right at what I should be getting under the current system!

Andrea, these letters are either being written at your child's center, on their way from the center to the country office, or being processed at the country office and that is why they are not visible on your end yet. :)

For Burkina Faso, I have a few kids there and have noticed I typically get less at this time of year while they've been on summer vacation. (LIkewise start of the year with a child who's off in January.) I guess everyone likes a break! I figure those BF letters should start cranking out again soon :)
