I wrote a letter at the beginning of June to my Daniela in Colombia, and it is still in translation. Which I guess may be normal with the new process, but almost 3 months seems long to me.

Along with that, is it normal to not be able to view your letters while they're being translated? It seems like if I submitted them online, I should be able to view them online during the 3 months of translation. I have another letter in draft but can't remember if I sent the same pictures or told the same stories in my letter back in June, and didn't print it out or anything since I figured I'd be able to view everything online now. Just wondering! :)

Hi Erin! I sincerely apologize for the length of time that your letters are taking to be processed. We are working hard to get all these letters that have become backlogged since the upgrade to the new system (in the last three months). We hope to have these letters translated and delivered by the end of August. Again, I am so sorry for how long it has taken. Yes, it is normal for letters to be unable to be viewed while they are in translation. Regrettably, you will have to wait until the letter is through the system to be able to view it. I am so sorry for any inconvenience in this.

Thanks for the info! Now that I know how things work with the new system,, I'll be more careful to take note of what I included in my previous letter. Do we get emailed copies of our letters when we submit them? I thought we do (or did), but I didn't find it in my saved emails. Knowing me, I probably deleted it by mistake. ;)

Erin, copies of your letters are sent in the confirmation emails with the subject line "Thank You For Writing to Your Child", but sometimes they can go to spam or just be missed :).
