Hi, I was wondering when I could expect to get a letter from Chairat, the child we are sponsoring. It's been almost 2 months since we started sponsoring him, and we sent a letter well over a month ago. Can you tell me how this process works, and what we should expect?

Hi Jessica! Thank you so much for writing to Chairat already! I can tell you are eager to get to know this sweetheart :). It can take up to four months to receive the first letter from your child. Since you began sponsoring him at the beginning of December, you can expect to receive his first letter by the beginning of April. It currently can take up to two or three months for letters to be processed and delivered to children and sponsors, so he is most likely getting your first letter about this time or will receive it soon! Thank you for blessing this kiddo with your love and sponsorship!

Aw, bummer!! But it's good to know what to expect. And I'm excited that he should be getting our letter soon!! I've been praying for him daily. :) I guess I'll write him another letter, so he doesn't have to wait months for the next one. Thanks for your reply Sarah, and for everything you guys do to support these kids!

This is pretty much my idea.  Keep writing letters every 3-4 weeks so there is a steady flow of letters going to my sponsored kids even if it takes a long time for letters to get there.  I am trying to be patient in hearing from them. To remind myself that this is about blessing the child, not about me. But yes, I'm anxious to hear from them.  In this day of facebook replies giving near immediate response to thoughts and Amazon 2-day prime for purchasing items we want, it is VERY hard to have to wait and wait for replies to letters. I am hoping having a steady stream of letters out there will mean eventually I'll have regular letters coming back (though it sounds like never as often as the letters go out) to make it easier to keep up a relationship, even if one where answer and questions are separated by months.  To remember this is a marathon, not a sprint.  For one girl, I may only have 2 years total (she's 17 already) So I don't know how much of a relationship we'll get under these conditions. But I can be a blessing to her anyway to the best of my ability.
