Hi! I recently received a mailing letting me know that all letters will be scanned from now on rather than hard copies being sent to our sponsored children. Did I understand this correctly? Does this mean I can no longer send pop up cards with writing in them or stickers? Thank you!

Hi Bonnie! It's actually the reverse; as a general rule, everything you've ever sent to your child - with the exception of pop-up / musical cards, stickers, etc. - has always been scanned. Nothing has changed there, and you are still welcome to send your child pop-up cards and stickers. What changed is that the physical original copies of your child's letters to you are no longer available, as they once were. Hopefully that makes sense and answers your question!

I sent a birthday pop up card and got a letter from Compassion saying only flat paper could be sent, it had to be scanned. And that they would donate my "item" to a charity if possible. It was a home made pop up card. I have sent home made pop up cards for a few years now.

John, is it recently that you sent this pop-up card? Did you receive communication from us that we were not able to send it? If yes, would you kindly provide us with the child ID number of the child to whom you sent the card? We would be happy to look into the reason why it wasn't able to be sent.
