Is anyone else still getting letters with drawings or a colored picture done by the child anymore? The latest letters I have received since the big changes in April don't even have a space for the children to color a picture.

Are there plans to discontinue the drawings from the children?

The lack of drawings, in addition to the different styles of handwriting, is just one more thing that makes me wonder if all of the sudden the children have no involvement in the letter-writing process.

Yes my kids still send drawings, and no my kids handwriting hasn't changed. I would ask Compassion to look at the letter that has concerned you before alluding to the fact that you think the kids aren't involved in the letter writing process.

Beth, our stationary for older children over age eight have typically just included lines for writing to their sponsor. The younger kids' stationary has questions to stimulate thinking about topics to share with their sponsor about and a space at the end to draw or color. While we did change our stationary to add a new barcode for our new processing system, we still allow space for younger children to draw and color and we do not have plans to discontinue this in the future. Is it possible that the children you are thinking of just transitioned into the older children's stationary in the last few months? Please do let us know as well if you have specific letters and children that you are concerned about and we would be happy to investigate further.

All of my letters from all of my children had the same stationery with the topics and drawing space through May this year. After that letters stopped coming. When I inquired about why I had not received a thank you letter from 3 kids for gifts I gave in November last year, all the letters since have been on totally different stationery with no room for drawings, and also do not appear to have been written by the kids.

Beth, sometimes the stationary for inquiries is different than the usual stationary because staff print off a generic stationary for the child to write on so as to get the letter done as quickly as possible. This may be the reason for the change in stationary as well. The letter stationary will likely revert back to a more "normal" looking one next time.

That makes sense that different stationary would be used in that situation. I will watch for 'normal' to return to the letter writing process. Thank you, Susan.
