I just want everyone who has lost sponsor child due to the situation in India to strongly consider taking on another child. I know it may be challenging to think about at this time, but there are so many other children out there that need us so much and if thousands of sponsors suddenly drop out of the program because of what happened in India, thousands of children around the world will suffer because of it. Please think about this before you remove yourself from the program : (

Hi Kayla, I agree with you.  Our payments were held in a special fund in hopes that the government of India would let them be sent.  Now sponsors of India children have those funds from April 2016 through however long they have made payments to transfer to another child!  I have already transferred mine to another child.  I hope most sponsors that kept paying in hopes of India being reinstated take advantage of this and sponsor another child.

I whole-heartedly agree too, Kayla! Just because you've lost your sponsor children from India, shouldn't mean that you should just leave Compassion entirely! Like Kayla said, there are hundreds and hundreds of children out there in different areas who are waiting desperately for a sponsor, praying each day that today will be the day! Surely you can find it in your hearts to let your money go to another child in great need. Your child in India may be sad for awhile, unfortunately, but think about how very happy you will make another child somewhere else! YOU could be the reason another child in poverty smiles today!!!! Please don't give up on Compassion....it is not their fault and they did everything they could to prevent what has happened with India....these other children in need who are waiting for a sponsor should not have your help withheld due to the bad decisions that India has made!!! Please.....give another child a chance!!!!

Thanks for posting your idea, Kayla. I was not involved with an India child, but it really bothers me to see all the sponsors who want their money back instead of continuing to do the Lord's work with Compassion by sponsoring another child. I am so glad to hear that Compassion took a stand and chose to end their work in India rather than denying their very mission and beliefs if they would have stopped the Christian portion of their work in India. It is most unfortunate for the children and families that were affected, but it was India's government's decision that caused these children to lose the benefits. I commend Compassion for not suppressing the Christian portion of their work. I'm sure there are plenty of children waiting to be sponsored where doors remain open to both the service and the message that Compassion brings.
