I am not able to give the child a relationship and it has become a burden. He deserves more. How do I do this?

Anita, I appreciate you reaching out to us with this concern, especially because I know that it is somewhat vulnerable to ask. I am so sorry that the relationship has become a burden. We understand that sometimes life brings seasons where we are busy or overburdened with other things making letter writing difficult. This is why we have volunteers who enjoy letter writing that we are happy to link with sponsors who are unable to write and build a relationship for whatever reason. Would you like us to have a volunteer letter writer write and build a relationship with your child?

Anita, I've placed Juan on our list to assign a correspondent to him :).

How do we tell him about this? What is my role?

Anita, I am happy to answer your questions about having a correspondent linked for Juan. Moving forward Juan will be writing back and forth with his correspondent. You won't have to tell him anything. The correspondent will introduce themselves through an introductory letter. You will still be his financial sponsor in the background. You are making a huge difference in his life by providing for him financially. Thank you!
