I have messages for almost all of my 10 kids that one or more of their letters are "in transit". And it's stated this for a long time; the message is not going away. Does this mean that all of those letters I sent never went through? Or is it a glitch....a message that I need to disregard? Thank you for looking into this for me. I appreciate it!!

Hi Trina! Most of the letters I see that are in transit are from the month of February or the very end of January. Is that what you are seeing? That is rather normal and you have nothing to be concerned about with these letters :). I do see a letter to Jhenny from October that seems to be stuck, so I am getting that one pushed through for you. I don't see any other letters with issues besides that one. Let me know if you see others from more than a month ago and I can look into it for you!

Hi, one of our children, Harouna (BF031600279) has a letter dated 11/25/2016 that's said "Translation Completed" for quite awhile. None of his other letters nor any of our other children's letters say this.  Have letters sent or received in 2016 all been delivered? Thanks for checking on this for us!

Mitchel and Kathleen, I am so sorry that this letter got stuck in the system and you are unable to see it. I just sent it to our IT team to push this letter through. You are right that all 2016 letters should be delivered by now but some like this one have gotten stuck due to errors in our system that we are still working to correct. Again, I sincerely apologize that this letter got stuck. We are looking to deliver it as soon as possible.

Hi!  I seem to be having the same problem from some of my kiddos, but the one in particular that seems to be in transit the longest is from Sornswawan (TH 038100033), hers has been in transit since 12/22/16.  Is this one considered stuck?  And also a lot of my kids have letters that are in transit from future dates.  I know that's been addressed elsewhere in this community, but just want to make someone aware.  Thanks!

Hi Anne! I'm so sorry for the confusion with this letter. The letter from Sornswawan was actually sent back to her to finish once they realized that she hadn't mentioned the gift that the letter was supposed to be in response to. The letter should have actually been canceled as they will upload the new letter with the mention of the gift in its place. The good news is that I can see that the replacement letter is actually being processed now :).

Most of the letters I've sent online recently say they have a problem. Do they need to be manually pushed through?

Why are all letters being flagged now? Almost Every letter written in February seems to be stuck. Why does it take months to check a letter? I am really tired of excuses.  Why do all issues get marked as solved when they are still ongoing?

Hey John, this isn't really an excuse but just another way to look at it. Compassion's administrative expenses are currently only 17.6% of total after the last financial reports. One thing they could do is go out and hire a whole lot more employees and spend a lot more money in-house to get rid of wait times and move everything along quicker, but then there would be less money for the kids. I would rather more money go to my sponsored kids since that's the whole reason I'm doing this anyway. I think most sponsors would. There's a lot of pressure on Compassion to keep their administrative costs low and those expenses are highly scrutinized. Let's try to be mindful of that and try not create pressure from both sides.

I have thought of that. It makes me question the timing of the 2 week upgrade and the India situation. The last upgrade lasted for months and this one isn't any better. When I can't send a introduction letter to a new sponsor child I get frustrated.

John, I am so sorry for the frustration and I definitely hear you with the timing. From my perspective, the situation in India could not have happened at a worse time. That said, our ways are not God's ways and I have to believe that God must have a plan for allowing this to happen right at this moment while we are finishing system upgrades. I won't make any excuses but really I am so sorry for all of these issues with your letters and other sponsor's letters.

The situation in India is that all Christian ministries are being forced to leave. I would say to them good luck with that as many of the Indian people are Christians the Gospel will still be preached so matter how hard it is for them.

I'm actually experiencing the same issue with my letters that were sent 1.30.17 each one of them reflects "In Transit" and every time I clicked to see an update it says an error was encountered. Is there anyway to verify if these are stuck too? My sponsor number is 07155749 and all 3 children of mine are reflecting the same status from the same date. Thanks!

Stephen, I'm not sure what you are referring to but email is fastest. If you still need to get a final letter in, we recommend emailing it to socialmedia@compassion.com to ensure delivery in time.

I have letters to Gladness Micheal TZ034500002, Yomaity DR034700863, and Yoshefa IO072800215 that have been stuck in transit since January and February. Is there anyway these letters could get pushed through?

I am also experiencing the same problem. I have a total of 10 letters that are stuck "in transit" from January until now....for 4 of my kiddos, Jhenny (BO-181-1192), Obse (ET-385-0172), Grace (GH-817-0070), and Charity (KE-922-0156). Could you possibly look at these for me (sponsor 07300510) and push them through if possible? Thank you so much!!!!

Thank you so much for giving us this forum and for your diligent attention to addressing our concerns.  We appreciate your time and efforts on our behalf.

Our sponsor # is 07160500.  We're concerned about two letters, sent from us February 25 and 26 to Keyla and Harouna.  They still say "In Transit" and when we looked to see what that means, the message says they are submitted, waiting to be processed by the local field office.  It isn't typical for our letters to the children to be In Transit for 6 weeks, and since letters we wrote at the same time to our other two children, Joan and Sterson, appear to have gone through, we are wondering if perhaps these other two letters got stuck.

Thank you enormously for shepherding our children's most recent letters to us through conversion hurdles to our inbox.  It was thrilling to learn about the sheep, goats, food, clothes, bed, etc., that a modest gift was used to buy for these children and families.  It's wonderful to know they are praying for us, even as we are praying for them.  It meant a lot to have them remark about something we wrote or a photo we sent and to ask about us.  We enjoyed learning a few more facts about their lives through the stationary used by the country offices to help our little ones communicate information that helps us piece together a mosaic of their world, begin to know them.  Thank you for all you do to make this possible for us and for the children!

Hi Mitchel and Kathleen! Wow, I love hearing your heart for this ministry, and your love for your children is very evident! We are extremely grateful for your desire to foster a meaningful relationship with your kiddos that will have a lasting impact in their lives :). Please rest assured that I have sent these two letters from you to your precious Keyla and Harouna to our IT Team to resolve. It does appear that they are a little stuck, so we will ensure they reach your kiddos as soon as possible :). Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention! It is truly a blessing to see how God uses us in the lives of little ones across the globe! Thank you for your generous and loving hearts!

Hi!

My daughter (06448125) wrote letters to both of her girls on March 8th and it looks like they may be held up in the system. The child numbers are: ET048800265, and ET048800030.

There is also a letter from Aberu (ET048800030) from January which you emailed to us, but we still are not able to view it online.

Thank you!

Hello!  After logging into my account (#07300510) and viewing My Letters for my sponsor kids and correspondent kids, I literally have like 20 letters still saying "In Transit".  Some of these are for letters that I recently wrote (so I realize they do normally take awhile sometimes to go through), but there are a few that are from way back in March, and others going back a few months.  And I have 2 letters coming in from one of my correspondent kids (ID-616-0139) that have said "In Translation" for over 4 weeks now.  Is this typical?  Or does this mean they are stuck?  I have been anxious to get to open them and read them, and I keep checking back to see if they are done being translated, but they continue just saying the same thing.  If you could look into this for me, I would appreciate it!  Thank you!!

Hi Trina! I do see two letters from back in March that look like they haven't gone through the system. Did you report these to us at any time before today and have us send the information to our tech team?  To me, it looks like we talked to you about those letters at the beginning of the month and sent them to tech to get fixed for you. The ones that are reading "In Translation" are not actually stuck :). Every country office is now using the online translation portal. As this is a new system for them, it may take them a little longer to translate these letters before sending them to the children or sponsors and we are giving them that grace to do so. Don't worry if your letters are taking several weeks to be translated right now as they will move through the processing and get sent to you and your kiddos :).

I have letters written almost 9 months ago that have not been received. I find this exceptionally uosettingbif I am honest ! I sponsor with IHF and my children are guaranteed to get their Kettering at the end of each month, I get a reply within weeks , always fir every child. To think I gave written to my children, taking great care over what I write only to find I have MANY unreceived ketters is disappointing yo say the least!

Jilly, I am very sorry for the frustration in regards to your letter delivery. According to our records, the oldest letter that is still in process is from the end of September 2017. This would be almost four months which I will admit is longer than it should be, but not quite nine months ago. It does look like this letter had an error in our system that prevented it from being translated and delivered right away. The error was cleared out and corrected by our technical team at the beginning of January and this letter is currently being translated. I noticed that all of your letters from this morning also had errors so I sent them to our technical team to be corrected right away. We are very sorry for these errors that are leading to delays on your account. Regrettably, we are still adjusting to this new system of letter delivery, letters are beginning to travel faster and faster, but do see errors that cause delays from time to time. Again, we are so sorry for these delays and appreciate your patience as we correct these issues. Thank you also for your partnership in writing to and encouraging children in poverty! What you are doing is an important part of our ministry. These letters not only lift a child's spirits, but also help to build their confidence to work hard and keep pressing so that they can eventually be completely released from poverty.
