Compassion staff,

I realize Indonesia is a long way away, and my sponsored child is only 7, but your information indicates that when a gift of at least $60 is given, that we will receive a picture of the child with what they actually got. I gave a gift of $60 just over two months ago in mid May, and have received nothing. Will I be receiving such?

I sent an email to you on7/28/17 and still have not even had a response from you!

Very frustrated and disappointed!

Rick, thank you for blessings your child with your generous gift and sponsorship. I am another sponsor but I can answer some of your question. It can, and usually does, take up to 6 months to receive your thank you letter and photo. This allows time for the gift to be distributed to the project from the country office, the project staff time to meet with the child and their family, decide on how best to spend the money to benefit the family, go shopping, take the photo and then write a thank you letter and have that letter transported to the country office for translation and scanning. There is a lot involved with the gift process. I have read several post from sponsors who visited their kiddos and we're shown their kiddos Compassion files which involved the exact amount spent on each item when gifts are received, from what I understand the records were quite meticulous even if an exact accounting doesn't make it into the letter. I hope that answers your question! God bless!
