I send my sponsored child monetary gifts a couple times a year , and when I do that I also send his family a gift also , he always thanks me for his gift but there is never any mention of the family gift are they receiving it ?

You should definitely be informed by your child about the family gift as well. Compassion asks that you allow six months from the date you sent the money for a letter regarding the gift. If the child doesn't mention it by the six month mark you can call and request an inquiry.
