Hi Mark! This is a great question. When you send your child a gift, it's delivered directly to the Compassion center. The staff then sits down with the child and their family to determine what they would like to buy with the funds. Compassion does utilize a small percentage (around 10%) of the gift for administration and delivery costs. You are absolutely welcome to make a suggestion as to what you would like the family to buy, but no matter what they buy, you can rest assured that it was well thought-out and that the funds were used to buy whatever the family is most in need of.

If you send a gift of at least $21, then your child will send you a letter outlining what they were able to purchase with the gift you sent, and if you send a gift of at least $60, then you'll also receive a photo of your child with the gift!
