I have a suggestion that CI should consider. The idea is about providing more sponsor tour trip information to those that are considering a visit in the future or for those that has signed up for a trip and want to hear personal experiences. There’s nothing more informative than firsthand experiences and no one better to provide it than sponsors that have done it.

Create a “Sponsor Trip” category on your community support website. Ask previous and current travelers if they would be willing to share their experiences and answer questions. Like all community website conversations, CI would be able to monitor the discussions and add information when necessary, but the goal would be for sponsors to share information with sponsors.

Have a CI tour guide provide a brief daily travel blog for every trip. It could be a simple “this is what we done today” paragraph. Maybe that information could be posted back to the “Sponsor Trip” site on the community page.

I know sponsors would appreciate more detailed trip information.

Thank you for all that you do.

All this kind of information is shared in the Compassion Correspondence fb group.  Many of the people that have gone on trips have blogs containing the information you are looking for.

This is a great idea, BillyC! I will certainly pass this along to our tours team for consideration. As Debbie mentioned, many members of our Compassion Correspondents Facebook group have gone on tours. If you would like to join the group and hear stories from others who have visited their children, just let me know and I will send you an invite. Also, as William mentioned, our tour leaders will often start a Facebook group for each tour they lead. This way group member can share photos and connect with each other about the tour. However, these groups might serve as a great way to see what a tour is like from the outside. You might also consider perusing all the tours we have listed, as you will be able to view a full itinerary for each trip. Lastly, I think the best way to hear from tour members about what it's like to travel with Compassion is to read the Compassion Blogger's posts about trips they have taken.

Thanks Susan! I can't get the link to work from my phone but I'll try it tonight from a "real" computer and see if that works!

Kristen, the link is active and should work. I am so sorry that it's not! Have you tried clearing your cookies or trying a different web browser? If you're using an older version of browser or if you have a lot of cookies built up, this has caused our sponsors issues in the past. Let me know if it still is giving you this error after you try these troubleshooting options!

Jenn, Facebook is telling me that an invite was sent to your email. Have you checked your spam/junk folders? This is where the email goes for many of our sponsors. I'm hoping you'll find it there! Let me know if you still don't see it.

I love that idea too!  If I was on a group tour I'd be posting something immediately, sharing all sorts of things from my trip.  Last year I purchased a zip lock bag full of items for my child that Compassion said a group leader would deliver for me.  When I emailed them after the trip asking if she got it, they kinda gave me the run around and I'm still not sure it ever reached her.  I was so happy they allowed me to do this seeing I couldn't make the trip myself, but after spending money to buy the items, then mail the box to them, I'm irritated that I'm not sure she got it.  Seems to me it should be an easy question to answer - either they delivered it, or they didn't!
