I sponsor 3 children. Two days ago, I got a contribution statement asking for $7.00 as part of a outstanding balance. I have sent notices for monthly payments of $45.00. $38.00 is for the sponsorship and the rest is for HIV/AIDS help. But every month I keep getting bills asking for the 7 dollars. One child, from Burkina Faso: BF-512-0105, Badeteon Some, I just paid $456.00 for a full year sponsorship and the bill I got says I owe $38.00 for my monthly sponsorship of him. Would you please look into this?

Elizabeth, I sincerely apologize for the confusion! It looks like we have two separate accounts for you with identical contact information. Rodrigue and a commitment of $7 for the HIV/AIDS Response are on one account, and Badeteon, Patricia, and an additional commitment to the HIV/AIDS Response are on the other account. This would explain the duplicate statement for the HIV/AIDS Response. It also looks like your donation for $456 for Badeteon posted your account on June 11 and the statement for $38 due for him would be incorrect. I am so sorry for our errors in regards to your donation accounts! Please confirm whether you would like your two accounts combined. Also, please let me know whether you would like to continue with two commitments of $7 each to the HIV/AIDS Response or if you would like to discontinue one or both of these commitments.

Susan: I would just like It if the two accounts were combined so all three children are on one page, and I would like to continue sending $45 a month for the HIV/AIDS fund like I did when I first started donating to Compassion. Also, could you tell me if I am getting close to my yearly payments for Patricia and Rodrique, yet? Thanks.

Elizabeth, As you requested, I have combined your two accounts into the one that has been around the longest (the account that had just Badeteon and Particia on it previously).

The support is actually $38 a month per child and then the $7 a month for the HIV/AIDS makes a total of $45. Would you like me to combine the HIV/AIDS commitments for a total of $14 a month (this would not change the amount that you are sending but would simplify things)?

Yes, I guess that would be okay for now. I also think I shall send a check every month instead of monthly payments with my credit card. Does that sound like a good idea to you? This way, you can actually cash the check and use actually money for the AIDS fund instead of waiting for the charge to go through.

Elizabeth, I have removed the extra commitment to the HIV/AIDS Response and consolidated them into one commitment of $14.

As you requested, I also stopped the automatic withdrawal on your account. Waiting for the withdrawal to go through versus cashing a check does not necessarily make a difference. In fact, it actually costs us more to process a check than a credit card or checking account automatic withdrawal. However, we are happy to accommodate whatever is most convenient for you.

Susan, thank you for changing my commitment to the HIV/ AIDS fund for me. If a credit card is more beneficial to 'Compassion', then that is how I will send my HIV/ AIDS payments. Thank you again for taking the time to answer my inquiry.

Elizabeth, I have linked your credit card automatic withdrawal to the HIV/AIDS Response commitment. You can continue to make donations for your children via check. Also, I think you were asking how Patricia and Rodrigue are doing. Patricia is current through the end of June and Rodrigue is current through the end of August.

I guess I had better get going with another payment for Patricia, then. Thank you for telling me.
