When and how will I find out if our sponsored children are ok with this hurricane? I of course have prayed but am very concerned  for the children and their families and the small amount of belongings they have.

Compassion will let you know if your children are directly effected by the hurricane. It will take a while though because communication systems will be down for a while, I suspect. No news is good news I. This case. My family and I are praying hard for the whole Caribbean. We have 4 correspondent children in both Haiti and the D.R. , so we are anxious as well. God bless!

A. Baker, Heather couldn't have said it better! We don't yet know the full impact that the hurricane has had on the Dominican and Haiti, but we will let sponsors know if their child has been impacted as soon as we receive that information. If you do not hear from us, it is good news! Our staff in Haiti will be working to make sure that every child and family is accounted for and receives the help they need if they were impacted. Please do continue praying for all of the children who are in the path of this hurricane. God is in control, but I am sure the children's sweet little hearts need the calming peace that comes from Him!

One of the children I support through CI is also in Haiti. I have sent prayer requests out as we are trusting the Lord with these dear ones.

My sponsored kids don't live in Haiti, but I'm praying for all the children and their families there as well. It's very sad to think about the devastation this storm is causing right now.

It is very sad. I know God is in control and yes we think of all the people effected especially the children. But Just wanting to know that our sponsor child is ok has a special place in your heart just like your own family does. I really do believe that her and her families faith has grown strong since my sponsor child has been in the program. Knowing that , does bring some ease as we sit and wait. I know whatever is, that God was there with his children and still is.

The one child I just started sponsoring is in the Dominican Republic all my prayers go out to those affected by this storm may God protect everyone including those who don't call Him Father. I plead the Fathers blood over Compassion internationals campuses that are around the world. May God show favor on them. And protect them through the storms. Amen
