Acha has passed away due to a fever, and I was wondering if she has sent a letter before she got sick if I would still get it?  And, vice verse.

So sorry to hear this :( Very heartbreaking for sure. I don't have the answer, but I wanted to point out that I have had a few friends who had their sponsor children die too and they were allowed to write a final letter to that child's family.  One of the families had no photos of their deceased child and the sponsor included the compassion photo in that final letter so that they would have that precious photo as a memory of them.

I've written my final letter, and sent it...  I didn't think about sending a picture of her...  For that fact I haven't been thinking totally clearly since i got the news.  I wonder if she had been here in the states if she would have lived...  I have all these questions and no answers.

Angelee, my heart absolutely breaks knowing that your sweet girl has passed away. Regrettably, Natacha did not have a chance to write you another letter before she got sick. Her last letter was processed in Colorado and sent to you in November. What I can tell you is that she was able to receive every single letter you sent to her, the last one probably arriving in her hands last month. I am sure that your letters brought such incredible joy and love into her life and pointed her and her entire family to Jesus consistently. Please know that Natacha's church is surrounding her family, caring for them during this time of immense grief and loss. Your final letter will be an encouragement to them as well. Angelee, I am praying (along side the rest of Compassion's staff) for you and for her family. I pray that you find comfort in Christ and allow him to come beside you, sitting with you in mourning the loss of this precious child.

Thank you.  It's good to know she got my letters.  It's also great to know they have support!

I am so sorry to hear this. It's good to know that the local Compassion family is there to support this child's family in their grief and I'm sure that the staff also provided whatever medical care and support that they could in her final days.

I know this response is late but I know it takes the heart sometimes months/years, if ever, to heal. I am hoping God is filling you with His grace and love and has comforted your heart in times of sadness. When I read your post my heart broke for you, the precious angel that went to be with the Lord, and her family. May God bless you for allowing Him to work through you to make an impact in that child's life until the end of her days here on Earth.
