Hi, my child will be graduating from the compassion program at the end of the Spring Semester. I'd really like to go visit him and attend his graduation. He's in Peru and I visited him once on a sponsor tour about 5 years ago. How can I make this trip happen? I don't even know for sure when the graduation ceremony is at his base. Can you help me get some details and travel advice? Thanks! matthew

Hi Matthew,
Congratulations to your sponsored teen in Peru! That's great that he's graduating! Thank YOU for being his sponsor - that is so encouraging. Peru is a great country, and I think you'll find that it is very beautiful.

You should be able to go on an individual trip. Compassion can help you to set this up.
For info that should help: http://www.compassion.com/get-involve...

You can call: (800) 336-7542 (number for trips/visits), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT, to speak with a Compassion representative.
or email: visits@us.ci.org

A few things -
1) If you haven't been overseas before, start applying for your Passport now.
2) Vaccinations: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinati...
3) Have a great and safe trip and let Christ work in you as you meet the people involved in your sponsored teen's life as well as the people of Peru!
