I recently left to go to College and i am realizing that I will not be able to continue sponsoring a child. I went into my account details to try and cancel the sponsorship but I found no options to do so. If someone could help me with this I would be extremely greatful.

Michael, I'm so sorry that you are thinking of ending your sponsorship. I was able to locate an account under your name, but I want to verify that it is the correct one. Are you sponsoring Caleb in Bolivia? I understand that going to college is definitely harder on your finances, and that can be very stressful. Because your request is due to financial concerns, we may be able to help you. We value you as a Compassion sponsor and the difference you are making in Caleb's life, so Compassion would be happy to cover the months of September through November of support for you. You can continue to write to Caleb during that time, and your support would resume in December.

This would be our gift to you; you would not need to reimburse Compassion. If this option would help, please let me know and I would be happy to take care of this for you. If not, please let me know, and will make Caleb available for sponsorship. In the meantime, I have paused your automatic monthly contribution until we hear back from you. Thank you so much for all the love and support you have given Caleb in the past year and a half!

Yes, that is correct, I am sponsoring Caleb. And yes, unfortunately I do actually need to end my sponsorship, thank you for the very generous offer though.

Michael, I have taken care of cancelling your sponsorship of Caleb. You are welcome to send a final letter to him! You would just need to mail it in to us and write "final letter" at the top. God bless you!

Emily, I am so sorry you need to end your sponsorship :(. Since this is for financial reasons, I would like to extend the offer to cover your support through October, missed donations and everything, and also reduce your sponsorship rate to $19 a month from November through April 2017. If that would help, let me know. Otherwise, I will go ahead and put Stephania up for sponsorship again today.

Hello the child we sponsored has now left the program. This happened with our first child after a few years and now again. I started sponsoring in hopes to get my kids involved but mostly it has only been me writing to her and involved. I didn't want to ever end my participation on her so I kept with it. Now that she is not in program so it is a good time to cancel my sponsorship and not transfer to another child.
I am sure I have a positive balance as I paid ahead of time usually. Please use this money for the center Katherine was at if possible please. If her Christmas gift never found its way to her then let another sponsor-less child enjoy the gift.
I wish there had been a way to know the last letter we got or sent was the last...same with the first child we sponsored. I pray they remember they are loved by Jesus.

Richard,

Katherine's family is doing better now and no longer needs the support. Thank you so much for your support of her and many other children over the years! I am sorry for the disappointment that I hear in your post about getting your own family involved but wanted you to know that we are grateful for your partnership!

As you requested, I have closed out your account and transferred the amount you had paid ahead towards Katherine's center. Regrettably, she will not receive the Christmas gift you had sent but the amount will be transferred to another needy child's gift. Thank you so much for your generosity!

It looks like your letter from August has been delivered. You are more than welcome to send another last letter if you would like. Please write "Final Letter" at the top along with Katherine's child number and we will be sure she gets it. Please send a physical letter to (regrettably since she is no longer on your account you cannot write online:

Compassion International
Colorado Springs, CO 80997-0004

There is another letter from Katherine on the way to you.

May God bless you and may you have a very Merry Christmas!

I had emailed how i can cancel my sponsorship about 3 months ago and never got a response. I have gotten a divorce after a domestic violent marriage. I am so sad to have to cancel this membership as this is the last thing in my small budget to cancel.  I have a balance due and just want my beautiful kids Esmerelda, Kenlove, and Jemima to have a sponsorship. CAN YOU HELP?

Missy, first, I am so sorry for everything you have gone through with your marriage. I am sincerely praying that God will heal and restore you in the aftermath of what must be extremely traumatizing, challenging, and painful experience. I am also praying that you are now in a safe place and held in the wings of His refuge, shield, and rampart. May God bless you and keep you. I have also made sure that your account is closed out and that each of your children are available for other sponsors.

Hi. I would like to continue to sponsor my child Keffey Mae, but I'm currently paying for my college tuition and searching for a job. Is there any way Compassion could help me cover my monthly payments? I'm hoping I can find a job before Christmas.

Thank you.

Alexis, we would be happy to help you to be able to continue the relationship that you have with Keffey Mae. I have covered December and January's support for you. Please let us know in February how you are doing as we have other options that may be able to help if you need more assistance. Praying you find a job soon! God bless you!
