I sent several of my kids birthday gifts last year I got 2 thank you letters one from elianny and one from Muriel but no new pictures and I had sent them each 60 I also sent Cleiri 30 she has made mention of ever getting it and I send Edwin 60 he also has not mentioned getting a gift fre and no picture also

Hi Debra,
I really understand how you feel. I have been a sponsor for 4 months but somewhat an active one and well, the motive is good but the communication maybe isn’t so good for sponsors. In my case, I kind of just decided to be peaceful and have no expectation, yet I am watchful as I have sent donations and if nothing comes back in a couple of months, I will definitely check to see if it was received. I believe everyone means well here but there’s a gap between countries & customs pretty much like in “normal” life. And you know how SLOW it is to effect even small changes in “life”. We can begin with my church. I am not effective there either. Similar stuff. But the only thing I can really add is although I can’t help you I can really understand how you feel. And I feel too. I am kind of prepared for nothing to come out of this but it doesn’t mean I am going to give up. We must enjoy that at least, we can try & we can give. I just want to THANK YOU for all you have done. You must be a very sensitive person to adopt all these children. That is a wonderful thing.

I myself have been a sponsor since last august and that is also when I sent the birthday gifts which is ample time for the responses and new pictures they say to give it up  to 6 months and then to ask so that is what I have done. It is a joy to help these children and their families

Hello Debra!  I am so sorry for the confusion and that you haven't received thank you letters or photos of these gifts. The $30 gift for Cleiri and $60 for Edwin were actually never sent because the card declined when we tried to pull these donations for you on September 3. Elianny's gift also declined on us when we tried to pull in on December 19th. It's very possible that the gift she is thanking you for in her letter was the Christmas gift she would have received at the project.  Miurel actually receives an annual birthday gift from her financial sponsor, and I think that thank you letter you received from her could actually be in response to that gift. Also, we currently have a letter in translation from her so I would like to wait until that letter has finished translation before we inquire regarding her gift. We haven't actually hit the six month mark yet anyway, so there is still time for a thank you letter to come in if that first one was intended as a response to her financial sponsor's gift.

I never submitted anything for sept cleiri was july Edwin wad august neither was sept elianny was October not December I do not understand

also all of these transactions are on my account statements and if there was a problem with the card why was I not notified?????

Actually I have the exact dates these amounts should have been sent Cleiri should have been july 27th for $30 Edwin was august31st for $60 Elianny was sept 28th and Miuel was October 19 so I don't understand how you get sept 3rd and dec 19th for withdrawl dates?????

Debra, you didn't give me dates originally, so I was going off of the dates we last tried to pull these gifts out for you. Though I do now see the dates you mentioned above, I couldn't find them when I was originally looking because they show up in completely different places. That being said, you submitted requests for these gifts to be pulled from your account in July, August, September and October, but they didn't go happily through the system and someone had to look at them. The reason I was getting September and December dates is because that is when someone in Compassion was able to process your requests. From everything I see, these gifts did not process because the cards were declined at the time. Do you show on your bank statement that these donations were pulled or are you talking about your online Compassion account? I'm happy to keep looking into why the system is showing me something different than you see on your end.

Hi Sarah sorry I never got right back to you, I got a letter from Elianny thanking me for her gift she said she went to buy something with her mother with it. Can you look into this for me please??????

Debra, I did look into this, and it looks like the birthday gift you sent in September, did go through for $60, and that was what she was referencing in her letter. Since it is $60, you should receive a photo with this letter. I submitted an inquiry to the field office staff of the Dominican Republic at this time, asking what specifically she purchased as well as a photo. Once the field office staff gets back to us, we will let you know as quickly as we can!

Okay thank you very much can you tell if the other children got their gifts as well???? I was told none of them went thru except Muruels but it is all on my account that they got thetm can you please help me with this confusion

I just want to clarify before sending another inquiry, were the two other gifts a $60 birthday gift for Edwin and a $30 birthday gift for Cleiri? I do see that both children received these gifts. Have you heard what the purchased with these contributions yet?

yes these amounts are correct for these children and neither of them have mentioned what they got with their gifts or that they got the money at all, Muriel mentioned some things she bought but I didn't receive a new picture yet

Debra, I sent an inquiry to request a photo of Miurel that you are entitled to as part of this thank you letter. It is interesting because on our field side, it says that Cleiri's gift is still in process after all these months. I sent an inquiry about this gift as well and to request a thank you letter. It appears to me that Edwin's gift was never processed. I only see an unsuccessful payment on our end (in multiple places) and nothing having been received in Mexico. Are you sure you saw this $60 gift withdrawn from your account?

Debra, do you mean a new official photo from Compassion of Muriel? Those photos are updated every 18-24 months, and Muriel is not due for another one until February 2019. Or are you talking about a photo of Muriel in regards to a gift?

The 60 was on my compassion account is what I ment if there were problems with the gifts I sent why did nobody notify me

It makes me very sad to know they did not get their gifts I had actually asked about it awhile ago and was told it had not been 6 months yet nobody ever mentioned any problems I just don't understand????? So Elianny and Muriel did receive their gifts????

Debra, I can understand that you are upset that the children did not receive their gifts. I am sorry that you did not receive a notification from us to let you know. We have been working to improve our processes. Please let me know if you would like me to try to send the gifts again for you. Thank you for your understanding.

Can you confirm that elianny and Muriel got their gifts? and has there been any answers about the new pictures I should get with these??? Also if I have you resubmit the gofts I wanted sent for their last birthdays can I still send them one for their birthday this year? I am asking because of thte cap that is usually sent each year

Debra, it does take about 45 days for us to hear a response back from the field office staff. Once we hear from them, we will let you know as quickly as we can. It does show that these gifts have been delivered on our end. Thank you for your patience as we wait to hear back from the field office staff.
