OH MY GOSH!!!!  I was just on my account for the second time today and there's a new little girl on there from Nicaragua!!!  She is the cutest little thing!  Going to be 4 in 10 days!!  NOW what do I write to a 4yr old???!!!  My sponsored girl is 12!  I can't believe it came on so fast!! Thanks Compassion for allowing me this awesome opportunity to share my love of Jesus with others!

Just love on her, and maybe send her a pretty little thing, like a bright flower sticker or even draw her a bright coloured something.  Remember, the translators and the child's parent, or parents, get to read the note too, so your words of encouragement will benefit them also.

Lisa, I love your enthusiasm! It is so encouraging to me knowing that this precious girl has a correspondent with such a warm and loving heart. I know that the words you choose to write to her will bring hope and inspiration to her :). One of my favorite things to do, is send coloring pages to my child! Younger children love this. I have even heard of sponsor's sending one already colored for them to keep in a special place, and another that they ask for the child to color and send back! You can talk about your favorite bible stories, or just encourage her that she is loved. Short and sweet is perfect for these little ones because letter writing is still such a foreign concept to her at such a young age.

I also see that she is only under the care of her mother. Knowing women in my life that are single mothers, I can imagine how trying it can be at times to raise a child by yourself especially in your child's environment and culture. You are welcome to even write an encouraging little note to her mother in the letters you send to Milagro if you feel led to do so :). I am confident that God will give you the perfect words to say; Happy writing!

Emily thanks so much for the info! I'm going to do the coloring page idea, that sounds great! Also I am glad to hear it's ok for me to include her Mom in the letter. I wasn't sure I could do that. Also I know that Compassion probably does this, but if she loses her financial sponsor can I have "first dibs" on picking her up? I would hope she wouldn't have that happen but just in case I would want to be able to continue with her.

Hi again Lisa! If your child's financial sponsor decides to discontinue at any point, you will be the first person we contact to give the option of sponsorship to :). Please let me know if you have any other questions I can answer for you!

Congrats!!!!  If you want, my friend made these little form letters to fill out as easy letters for young kids :) She made them especially with her new 4 year old correspondent in mind too.

Thanks Lisa :) We actually share the blog, but all those form letter posts (And the idea and design of them) were 100% hers haha!  I love them and actually plan to use some for my older kids too :)
