Hi! I have seen new photos of 3 of our kids and would like you to send me jpeg's and histories of their photos if possible - They are Mayra (Our SS Class Sponsors her) ES-787-0451; Nigel PE443-0490 (we've only received 1 letter from him this year); and Edwin PH560-0253. Do we still get the 'official' updated pictures from Compassion in the mail still w/ bookmarks..even with correspondent kids? Our little Barack KE459-0041 is 12 and he still has a tutor write for him. Is this unusual in Kenya. We have never received any kind of updated photo of him and it says the last update was from 2014. Would you have this checked into? Also... is there a way to see if I have a final letter coming from our Tanhia, from Guatemala? Will I receive a yes or no on continuing correspondence? Also, will we receive a final letter from our Alisson? So sad she left the project. Sorry for all the questions but I figured I may as well ask in one post :)

Hi David! Happy to help!

I just sent an email with Mayra, Nigel, and Edwin's updated photos. You will still receive the physical photo update bookmarks in the mail. Typically, the physical photo updates take a few months to be printed and mailed.

Children begin writing their own letters as soon as they are able and feel confident to do so. They so want to please their sponsor and some kiddos don't feel comfortable writing letters on their own for a while. Typically this happens gradually between age 8 and 12. That said, Barack is only in the US equivalent of the 3rd grade and I am not sure I would  have felt comfortable writing a whole letter by myself in the 3rd grade either.  His last update was done in October 2014 and we do updates every 24 to 26 months. This means you should receive another update for him real soon. Regrettably, we can't check on it until the 26 month mark, but let us know if there is still no update by the end of December.

We just sent a letter from Tanhia that I would imagine is the last one. The date on is is the 29th of September and it should be visible on your My Account. Please let me know if you cannot view it and I will send you a copy via email. We sent your information to her in July. She will contact you if she chooses to and that will be your answer. We do not typically provide a "yes" or "no" to supporters on the continuing correspondence.

Allison's paperwork from when she left the program says that she sent a final letter but I do not see it on its way just yet. I trust you will still receive it but I cannot guarantee either way.

Thanks so much Susan. How would I view Tanhia's letter if her account is no longer online? Gosh I do hope I get something from Alisson. We will be at her project June '17 maybe they will have record of it if i can't get anything now?

David, I apologize for the confusion and for my error. The functionality of viewing previous children's letters online is still being built and is not yet available online. I am emailing you a copy of the letter. :)

Hey again Susan. Sorry to bug you in this but the letter you forwarded was written in May and was a thank you note for her Birthday gift. I am thankful and blessed to receive a surprise letter like that but I do hope I will get an actual 'final letter' telling me her plans for the future. Please let me know, if you can, if that is in the works. I'd hate that to be the end of a long and close relationship without any real closure. Thanks so very much.

Hi David, I'm so sorry for the mix-up of Tanhia's letters. We sent you the most recently processed letter; however, this thank you letter was written before her final letter to you. Tanhia's final letter was written in June and then processed and delivered on September 8th. As you may know, in April we updated our letter writing process, but we have encountered some issues along the way. One of these issues is with letters being processed out of order. I'm so sorry for any confusion this has caused. I will email you with the copy of Tanhia's final letter, and you should receive this soon! Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you so much Christina. Susan mentioned our final letter from Alisson was not guaranteed to get to me. I truly understand all the difficulties of the current computer situation but I can't accept I may or may not get a final letter that has been written from a child I have invested time, prayers and two visits into. Please please check further into this and let me know. Thank you so much.

Hi David! Alisson's student center did tell us that she (or her tutor) will write a final letter for you. However, we just don't yet see a letter logged into our system, which is normal since she only just left the program last month. Thank you for your heart for these kiddos :). Have a great day!
