Hello. I am looking to possibly sponsor a another child, and with my current child we pay the additional $7 a month that was partners for compassion which, my understanding, is money that goes into a fund for unsponsored children. The new child that I have picked, the additional $7 has the word "critical needs" next to it. Is this a general fund? Or does this indicate that my child will have needs beyond what the $38 normally covers, and may need extra? If this is the case, is that $7 applied directly to her or will it go in a general fund?

In an additional note, I was searching for a child that was part of the project where my current child Elodie is, but it says no children in that facility need sponsors.

Hi Dana, Thank you for contacting us today! Any giving above and beyond the regular $38 a month (with the exception of child gifts and family gifts) will go into a general fund, whether it's the Partners of Compassion fund or the Critical Needs fund. I just double-checked the availability of children in Elodie's project, and you're right; there are no children currently available there. Thanks so much for your desire to bless another child through your sponsorship!
