No Confirmation Email

Hello! My name is Jayme Windsor and I accepted a "child packet" for a beautiful child named Jefferson (HA072401243) on Wednesday at the Rock & Worship Roadshow in Phoenix, AZ. I am aware that I am probably being impatient, but I have not received a confirmation email for my sponsorship. How long does this typically take when I did not choose my sponsor child online, but instead registered on paper at a concert?

Hi Jayme! When signing up at an event, it may take 3-4 weeks for Compassion to receive your information and set up your account for you.

I agree with Adam! I felt the same way you did Jayme and I'm sure many others can relate, I was so excited and impatient with the thought of information ANY information at that! haha It can take a little bit of time when you select a child from an Event, as Adam mentioned quite a few weeks. The welcome packet comes in the mail :) My first child was selected in the same manner and I was bouncing around walls with the thought of any form of notice, information, etc. I ended up scouring the site for hours as well as forums, etc. :) So Congratulations Jayme on your awesome new sponsorship adventure! The initial wait is part of the experience (not always the easiest haha) but an exciting one at that! I found it easier to kill time looking a videos on Youtube about Compassion International and just learning of other experiences so hopefully you can find some interesting things until your packet arrives! Hi Ces! Thank you so much for your comment! I have been doing the same things you did-- checking out their website and forums, even reading about my sponsor child's home country. I really appreciate your support and I hope you and your sponsor child(ren) are doing well! :)

Jayme, thank you so much for choosing to love and support a child through your sponsorship! We are so blessed to partner with you in ministry! I love that you're so excited to get started! It does regrettably take several weeks for your sponsorship to be finalized - 2-4 weeks on average. Also, you will not receive a confirmation email for events like you would if you signed up online. Instead, you will receive a letter in the mail with more information for you. If you would like to speed things up, you are also welcome to visit www.compassion.com/firstpayment. This will finalize your sponsorship immediately and you can then create a web account and get started.

Hi Susan! Thank you for the information. I did visit the page you hyperlinked and paid for the first time. I was able to make an account but my sponsored child is not on it yet. Is this normal even though I know my sponsorship payment was under his name?

Jayme, regrettably, I am not sure what you are asking, but yes it is normal to take several weeks for sponsorships to be finalized after events and the first payment website jumpstarts the sponsorship.

Hi Susan. I am sorry I was not clear in my previous comment. As you mentioned in your post, I wanted to speed things up, so I made my first payment and created my account. When I go on my account now and click on "My Sponsorships" it says "You are currently not sponsoring any children" even though I made my first payment yesterday. When you said in your post that making the first payment will finalize my sponsorship immediately, I understood that to mean that Jefferson would appear under "My Sponsorships" as soon as I made that first payment.

Jayme, I am sorry that the first payment did not finalize your sponsorship immediately like it should have. It does look like there was an error in our system preventing it from going through the "happy path" and processed immediately which means that our staff have to manually process it. I trust that this will happen real soon.
