No letter

My sponsor child wrote me, and I sent a letter back. Both show up in my app. But she has not written me back. It says I have not written a letter in 103 days, but I have not heard from her so I have not written back. Is that normal? For it to be more than three months between hearing from her? My other sponsor child we have written five or six letters back-and-forth, in the same timeframe.

Hi Jennifer! Thank you very much for your concern for your sponsored child, and for reaching out to us. Are you referring to your sponsored child, Erika? I do see that it has been about four months since you've heard from her. According to our records, sadly, a letter sent from you to her back in September was cancelled, due to our field office only receiving a partial letter from you. I am so sorry for that inconvenience, but it looks like Erika did not receive that letter from you. That may be why it's been a while since you've heard from her, as children will write more when they receive more letters from their sponsors. Again, I am so sorry that the letter you wrote in September did not make it to Erika and that no one contacted you about that. I would certainly encourage you to write another letter to her! If you go more than six months without hearing from her, let us know, and we can send a note to her center.

Do you know why the last one was canceled? It shows up in my app. I put a lot of time and energy into those letters. I wrote a similar one to my other child in Africa, she received hers. Not sure why Erika would not have received hers. I included maps, and pictures and a couple hand written notes. It was several pages.

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for reaching out again about this letter. I read through your letter and it really is wonderful! I see if was cancelled because our staff missed a little section of translation. In my eyes, I think this should have been sent back to our translation queue, but it does appear it was cancelled, I am assuming by mistake. I am however, going to send this back to our queue manually and see if we can push that through for you. Please know it may take up to 45 days for my request to be answered and fulfilled. Thank you so much for your patience as we work on this.

Thank you very much. I don’t have the best handwriting, so if needed please take a picture or let me know what part needs to be deciphered, and I can type it up so someone can better translate.

I am also not a fan of computers or electronics, so I prefer writing letters, but I know, I don’t have the best handwriting. Please email me if anything further is needed.

From what I could see, your handwriting was definitely legible, so I wouldn't worry about that! I think it's so special that you like to write your letters by hand to your children. Once we hear back from our team in Colombia, we will let you know if there are any changes that need to be made. I hope you have a Happy New Year!

Hi Jennifer! It looks like our team is still looking into the issue. They normally have 30-45 days to complete their research. Since we sent the inquiry on December 30, we should hear back around January 30 or the week of the 3rd. I have included a note on your account to make sure to follow up with you as soon as possible once we hear back from our team in Colombia. Is it best to contact you through email once we have a reply?

OK, thank you for getting back to me! I do have a letter from her in my file, that is Xed currently, so it looks like it is still being translated. Not sure if that means she got the first one or not.

How do you follow up with me on this? I don’t know to check this unless, I am specifically looking for a reply or have a question. So I don’t automatically check this. Can you email, text or call to reply when you have an answer?

Hi Jennifer! Once we hear back from our National Office about this issue, someone from our team will either call or email you using the contact information we have in your account. :) No need to worry about checking this post specifically! I'm sorry for any confusion!
