We haven't received any letters from our sponsored children since their first letter, which was received months ago. How often should we expect communications?

If it has been 6 months since you received the last letter, let the social media ladies know and they will send an inquiry.  If you are regularly sending letters, you MIGHT see letters as often as every two months once it gets started.  I have one child that sends that often (She's almost 18). A 6 year old that seems to send mail ever 3 months or so.  And the other children I've received replies from have been at the 4-5 month mark.  I've only been doing this for  a year though so that may speed up as things progress and obviously the people with a longer time in between I've only received 1 reply letter from so far.

Hi April! You should receive letters from your children every six months whether you are writing back to them or not. The more often you are writing to them, the more often you should also hear back :). I do see that it has been over six months since you heard from Owendi and about four months since you heard from Ambrose. It also can take time for your letters to be delivered to your kiddos. Once the letters have completed translation, they are placed in the project boxes to be picked up and delivered to the kids. A project worker usually comes once a month to pick those letters up, which means your children probably received your first letters about a month after you sent them in May. They then have 60 days to write back to you. When it has been longer than six months since you've heard from your child, Compassion is able to send an inquiry on your behalf to see why there is a delay. I can do that for Owendi, but Ambrose hasn't hit six months yet. I do see that we've had the stationary printed off for the kids to write reply letters back to you so you should be hearing from both of them soon anyway. I will go ahead and send an inquiry on Owendi for you today though. It can take up to eight weeks for us to receive a reply for inquiries. We will get a letter from her placed on your account as soon as possible.

Hello: I am also wondering when I can expect to hear from my child Breda KE7050602.  I have written her numerous times and have not heard from her since February.  Can you please help as I am concerned about her.  Thank you!

Also - I started sponsoring Edith Yipan Koura BF048200311 back in June and have never received a letter from her yet - not sure if it is supposed to take this long or not to receive a first letter.  Thank you!

You are supposed to receive a letter within 4 months of sponsoring. So if she was sponsored on June 18, say, then you should receive a letter by October 18.  If not, ask Social Media and they will send an inquiry for you. After the first letter, you should receive a letter at the least every 6 months from the previous letter.

Hi Pamela! Thank you so much for your heart to encourage kiddos through our correspondence program as well as blessing children through sponsorship! I see that you became Edith's correspondent on June 20th. Sarah is correct about the 4 month time-frame for a new sponsorship :). However, for a new correspondent, it may take up to 6 months to receive a letter. I'm so sorry that you haven't heard from Edith yet :(. Please let us know if you have not received a letter from her by the end of December, and we would be happy to send an inquiry for you.
