Last year I received no pics after I sent both a birthday gift and a family gift to my little boy Rashidi. My 2 girls that I sponsor always send pics when I send them a gift so I'm not sure what the issue might be with my little boy.  Could it be that the center has no camera? could it be that he doesn't want to show me what he has purchased?  After the funds leave my account, I hope he knows that he can get whatever he wants with the money...maybe he thinks I'll judge him? nothing could be further from the truth.  I'm just hoping for a picture this year but I know I have to wait because I just sent his birthday gift a few days ago...

If you send more than $60, the center is required to take a photo of what was purchased with the funds you sent and you should receive a letter/photo. If you ever go longer than six months without an acknowledgement of a gift, let Compassion know!
Gifts less than $60 do not require a photo, although some projects do still send them. You would still get a thank you in a letter for those gifts though!

Hope that helps!

Hello, angelslegacy! I have sent an inquiry to Rashidi's center, requesting that they send you a letter and photo for the gift you sent last June. In regards to his birthday gift, you should also receive a letter and photo, within six months of you sending it. :)

I've been down this road before last year...I received no picture, waited 6 months to contact CIompassion, Compassion said they would reach out....Moral of the story: March of 2019 and I literally have never received a picture from last years birthday Birthday gift.
Seems like some sort of issue with the center my child attends..

I'm so sorry about that. I completely understand how frustrating that must be. Hopefully, we receive an answer from Rashidi's center soon!

Hi there! I, too, have been waiting for pictures. We gave both a child gift and a family gift, both over $60. The gifts were given in the beginning of January. Is there any way to check in on this? We’d really like to know what was purchased. Thank you.

Hi Bonnie! Thank you so much for providing this ID number. Regrettably, this ID is for a child other than Karla. Could you please review your records and double check the number you provided? If possible, could you also provide your sponsor number? Once we have this, we would be happy to check on the child gift and family gift for you. :)

Hi Bonnie! Thank you for clarifying that for us. :) I was able to find Karla's account, and it looks like those two gifts were given on January 28th. Since it takes two to three months for the gift to get to your child, and two to three months for their letter to reach you, we ask that you wait six months to receive the thank you letter. If you do not receive a letter and photos for these gifts by July 28th, please contact us again so we may contact our national office!
