Our sponsored child is currently pregnant. This was unplanned for her and she wrote that she stopped attending her center. How can we find out more about her current health and well being?

This happened to two of my sponsor kids. They are able to stay in the program if they want to.One of mine left early and good thing for her the father of the baby is willing to stay with her.The pastor of the project is counseling them and the partner chuch members took up a collection to buy things to help them.

My other one who got pregnant stayed in the program until she graduated.I had been on one individual visit to meet her and her family and she was pregnant at the time but she didn't want to tell me.I guess she was afraid I would have stopped my sponsorship.I wouldn't have. The father of her baby is not with her but her family has stood by her.I went to visit them again before she graduated. She has a son.

The only thing we can do is let them know we are still here for them.

William is exactly right. Children are able and even encouraged to stay in the program but some drop out of the program because they feel ashamed. It sounds like your sponsored child is in danger of dropping out of the program because she says she has stopped attending. I can understand your concern and am anxious to check into this situation.

It looks like you called a few months ago about this and the representative you spoke with asked that you send in a copy of the letter you received. Regrettably, it would really be helpful to have a copy of this letter on file when I send an inquiry to our field office. If you are able, please send this letter in one of the following ways:

-Email: Attach the letter in an email to socialmedia@compassion.com
-Fax: Fax the letter to 719-487-4828
-Mail: Mail a copy of the letter to:

One more thing that had to be God providing.I had just donated to the birth attendant fund a week before the 1st sponsor child told me she was pregnant.Later on I donate again and receive a letter from the 2nd one asking me to pray for her baby.I was already set up to visit that one on an individual visit.
