ok, weird question.. I am wanting to sponsor another child, but don't have a good job through the winter. I was wondering if there was a way I could only pay $19 a month to sponsor her, then make it up through the summer? or when I get the money.. I am trying to get another job, but I am only 15 and don't have a car so it's super hard. If not, that's completely fine as well :)

Good morning, Anna! I am so encouraged by your heart to support a child and the sacrifice you're making to try and sponsor! Since you don't know when you will have the money to fully support a child and we do need $38 to support a child, I might have another opportunity you might be interested in! :) We could set you up as a correspondent to write letters back and forth to a child. There is no financial commitment with this and the only requirement is to write at least three times each year. This way, you're still building a relationship and making an impact on a child's life! We assign  correspondent's for sponsors who don't have the time or desire to write to the child they are supporting financially. Please let me know if you're interested in this option. If you are, email us your full contact information including your mailing address to socialmedia@compassion.com and we can get you set up :).

If you still wish to donate financially, I would encourage you to either save up your money until you can afford to support a child in our program, or another option is donating to one of our complimentary intervention funds! Any of these can be set up on a monthly donation basis and we can work within your budget on how much you would like to give. You can read more about them, here.

Congrats Anna!  If you like, some sponsors have started a forum for sponsors with letter ideas and just a place to talk about our kids.  Theres a lot of sections once you log in, including one for teen sponsors
