I sent in a sponsorship packet and paid the first payment online, but the payment has been in pending for 4 days. However, the $7 that I said I would pay for helping other families came out. I just want to make sure that my packet was received and if it has been, is there a way to find out when the payment will be withdrawn from my account?

Hi Erin! I am so sorry for the confusion with your donations for the child you wish to sponsor. On your account, I can only see the $7 commitment to our Partners of Compassion fund. I don't see a child, but I'll work to figure out what happened. Can you post the child ID for this sweet kiddo on here for me? That would greatly help me be able to find out what is going on.

Sari's ID is IO-499-0257. I thought that her packet would have made it to you guys by now. But no worries, I just want to make sure that she gets the help that she needs.

Erin, she is just precious! Thank you for your heart to sponsor her! Can you tell me what event you were at? It looks like she was on hold for an event and the event has to match up for the sponsorship to go through.

Erin, regrettably, it looks like the event at your church had expired. The event that Sari is at is a different event so we will need to wait until the current event is over. Thankfully, this event goes through May 13. This means that if she is not sponsored in the next few days, we can assign her to you for sponsorship. I will be watching and will go ahead and assign her to you if she is available on May 13.

Ok thank you for letting me know. Because the event has expired I am sure that I am not the only person in this situation...Is there a way for Compassion to contact the coordinators of the event at my church in order to help others who are in my same situation? Like I had mentioned previously, they have had a table up for several weeks and are waiting until all of the children are taken from the table...Obviously if they have already been moved for another event this is not working out.

Erin, I am so sorry this happened to you. We train our volunteers on the expiration dates for events, but regrettably sometimes not all Compassion Sunday volunteers are aware of how our events work. Regrettably, in this case, I am not sure what we could do for those who sponsored through your church other than what we are currently doing - working with each of them individually. Does your church still have the child packets out? If so, we may want to encourage them to dispose of those packets as the children are now open to be sponsored through other events.

As of last Sunday they were still out on the table. I believe that they were trying to get every child sponsored. This Sunday I will try to speak with them and advise them that other individuals will most likely run into the same problem that I am having and will recommend that they direct those individuals to handle their cases the way that I am.

I would actually like my pending payment to be cancelled and then I can just pick a child from the website when I am ready because I do not like having a pending payment that may be withdrawn at any time. Thank you.

Hi Erin! Rest assured that I don't see any pending payments on your account. The only donation I show that has been processed is the $7 that Sarah mentioned to you. I'm so sorry for this issue and the inconvenience it caused to you. We appreciate your heart to still support a child in our program and I've let Susan know that you are going to find a different child through our website.

I would rather just cancel this altogether please because I am not comfortable with the idea that the money could now come out of my account at any time when Sari finally gets assigned to me. I would prefer to have the pending payment cancelled and to just choose a child from the website at a later date.

Erin, I will let Susan know you would rather sign up to sponsor a different child in your own time. I am so sorry for the confusion and issues that have surrounded Sari's sponsorship.
