Hello, I had moved about a year ago and updated my address on my account. It notified me that it would take a few days for it to go into effect. I have never received mail, so I just logged in again and the changes had never been made. I just updated my mailing address and hope it works this time. Also, when looking at my giving statements, it said I didn’t give in 2017, just in January of 2018. Is this correct? Was my sponsorship cancelled on your end?

Hi Alyssa! I'm so sorry for any confusion or concern caused by not seeing your giving history for 2017 and for your information not being correctly updated when you had initially changed it :(. I'm glad to hear that your information is now correct. Please rest assured that you are indeed still sponsoring your sweet boy, Atimbouga, who you have been sponsoring since June of 2016. I'm sorry you're unable to see your giving history for 2017 on your account. Only the current year's giving will display under "Giving History". If you'd like to see your 2017 giving history, please log into your My Account, select "Tax Receipts & Giving History" from the menu, and then select the 2017 (pdf) under the "Tax Receipts" section. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Have a blessed day!

Hi! Thank you for your quick response! I’m actually sponsoring a little girl named Bessie. This is the first time I am hearing of Atimbouga...

Hi Alyssa! I am so sorry for the confusion. Your email address brings up an account for Atimbouga and not Bessie. Would you be able to help me find Bessie by giving me her child ID?

Alyssa, I found Bessy in our system, but the sponsorship is under a name completely different from yours. Is your account under Alyssa Halliburton or another name?

Alyssa, I was finally able to find your account under your maiden name. You actually have two different accounts. Thank you! I do see one donation of $38 given for Bessy in January 2017. Your card declined on us in February 2017, and we were not able to pull donations from that card moving forward. We would have sent you something in the mail to let you know that the card declined. Regrettably, the sponsorship for Bessy was cancelled in July 2017 because we had gone 6 months without a donation towards her sponsorship, and the communication regarding this was returned to us as undeliverable. She has since then received a different sponsor and is not available for you to sponsor.  Right now, we have a second account under you and Quentin from which you are sponsoring Atimbouga. If you need more help from me, please let me know!

Ok, thanks for clarifying. I’m disappointed that she wasn’t being sponsored during that period of time. Especially because I had changed our address and updated our credit card information online. How do I prevent that from happening in the future? Also, how did I start sponsoring Atimbouga without being communicated to?

Alyssa, the sponsorship of Atimbouga was started in June of 2016 at the Gridiron Men's Conference. It sounds like you already had a Compassion account and were sponsoring Bessy and that your husband later signed up to sponsor Atimbouga. When he filled out the information he included both of your names. Since the name on the account and the address did not match the existing account information, a new account was created. The two accounts were never linked together. I apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding. We greatly appreciate your continued support of Compassion and your sponsorship of Atimbouga. I would encourage you to take a moment to write to him. I know that your letters can bring him hope and love. If you need the login information for the account, I would be happy to email this for you.

Ok, my husband didn’t attend that conference. Is there someone that I could talk with over the phone?

Alyssa, yes you can absolutely call us at 800-336-7676, Monday through Friday from 7am-5:30pm, Mountain Time. I looked in to the account and can email you the letters that were written by your husband. In the first letter to the child, he tells the child about you both and that he was at a Christian meeting where they were asking people to sponsor children. There are pictures on the letter of you as well. Would you like me to send this for you to review? You can also see the letters online in your my account.

Thanks for passing that along! My husband’s name is Weston and I have included a picture of us. How do I make sure our accounts stay separate?

Alyssa, this must be a case of mistaken identity. You have the same name and email address that is associated with the other account. I will remove the email from the account for the other Alyssa Halliburton. I definitely apologize for the confusion. I am happy that we were able to come to a resolution though. I appreciate your patience and understanding. You are a very beautiful couple and may God richly bless you both.
