I know that typically it is recommended that sponsors not send their children pictures or descriptions of food since they may not have enough. But do you guys think it would be okay to share pictures or tell a child if we visited a market featuring food from their country and some pictures of the candies and a dish from their culture that we tried? I want my child to know that I am interested in their culture but I do not want to make them feel bad either.

Hi Rebekah,
Thank you for being so sensitive and aware of your child's feelings and emotions. However, I think, just as you said that this would be an amazing opportunity to connect with your child with something that relates to them. I feel this would also allow them to see that you are interested and enjoyed learning about their culture. I encourage you to share! :)
