Hello,

I would like to change the children associated with my Compassion account and my wife's Compassion account.  My wife's account is setup like a correspondence only account for the  children that she normally writes to.  Then my account is setup with the billing and payment information for all of the children, so we only got one monthly charge.

We would like to change this so that my wife's account (User ID sallyroot & Sponsor Number 2934246) has the following children:

PH8500544 - Alyiah Camille Magbanua
GU4580171 - Loida Maribel Puac Macario
IN7960020 - Nisha Mani

Also, please copy the same credit card information into her account and have the monthly sponsorships, birthday gifts, and Christmas gifts automatically charged for these children through her account.

This should leave the following children in my account (User ID theroots & Sponsor Number 2262225):

KE7450110 - Mutethya Kimanzi
KE6120281 - Victor Kariuki  (Correspondent Child)

Lastly, please adjust the monthly payment accordingly through my account.  Also, can you please include my correspondent child, Victor Kariuki (KE6120281), to the annual birthday gift and Christmas gift?

Hopefully, this makes sense.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email.

Hi Douglas! I have begun the process of transferring these kiddos over to your wife's account and we will continue with the same annual birthday gifts and support coming out of the same card. I have also added Victor to the annual birthday gifts and his birthday gift will withdrawal in the amount of $20 each year in November beginning this November 20th. I also added $20 to your annual Christmas giving to make the total each year for Christmas, $80. Your support for each child is already current through the end of October and so the next automatic withdrawal for each child will be this month on the 20th as normal. Please let me know if I caught everything for you or if you'd like anything else changed :). Thank you so much for the great explanation and clarification, you made it easy for us ;).

Emily, thank you.  But, shouldn't the Christmas gift for my account only be $40 each year?  It's $20 for each child and I only have Mutethya and Victor now.

To confirm, birthdays would be $20 for Mutethya and $20 for Victor annually and $38 for the monthly sponsorship.

Is that what you have?

Douglas, I apologize if I misunderstood; do you not wish to have Christmas setup for children on your wife's account as well? You and your wife have five children total including your correspondent child and your Christmas giving was already at $80 per year per your request. You had requested that an additional amount be added to Christmas also to account for your correspondent child. I'm happy to reduce the rate back down to just $40 if you only want $40 to go towards the Christmas Program.

Yes, there is $20 being withdrawn for each child for Christmas and $38 for their child support. The same for your wife's children.

Yes, we would like $20 withdrawn for each child for Christmas (which includes the correspondent child).  But, doesn't that make the total for Christmas $100 then, instead of $80?

$60 from my wife's account (Alyiah, Loida, and Nisha)

$40 from my account (Mutethya and Victor)

I am referring to this statement in your first response "I also added $20 to your annual Christmas giving to make the total each year for Christmas, $80."

I deeply apologize, Douglas. Yes, it does make it $100. That was a typo on my part. I typed $80 (your present amount) instead of the $100 that I increased it to. I double checked your account and rest assured that your giving for the Christmas fund is increased to $100 beginning in 2016. Each of your kiddos will receive a Christmas gift this year and be told that the gift they receive is from you. Thank you for your generosity!

Emily, how long does it take for the changes to be completed.  I still see all of the children on my account.  I also need to change my credit card number before the next billing cycle.  We are getting divorced and my wife canceled that credit card.  I can't afford to pay for the other children too.

Douglas, I have been in communication with our department that processes these changes and because of the Christmas season, we're a few days behind in our processing and are working hard to get caught up. We're all hands on deck and I have verified with one of my co-workers that they're taking care of your account today. You should see these children transferred over to your wife by this afternoon. Thanks for your patience.

You can either call us to update your credit card or you're welcome to go online to your My Account and under 'Payment Options' you can edit your credit card information :). We ask that you don't provide that information through this forum or through email as it's not a secure form of communication.

Emily, I received a letter in the mail today listing my commitments as of November 20, 2015.  It shows the Christmas Gift amount to be $80/year.  I only have 2 children; KE7450110 - Mutethya Kimanzi and KE6120281 - Victor Kariuki  (Correspondent Child).  Shouldn't the Christmas Gift amount for me only be $40/year?  The three children on my ex-wife's account should be charged to her.  Thank you.

Douglas, I apologize for the confusion. When there is a change like this (moving some but not all children to a separate account), the Annual Christmas Gift amount must also be adjusted. According to our records, as of November 18, the amount has set to be reduced down to $40 (or $20 for two children). This will be effective for the first withdrawal for this commitment starting October 20, 2016. However, you are correct that the previous amount was $80.
