I just want to say thank you to Compassion International for being in existence and for the wonderful work you do to help those in poverty and for giving people like myself the opportunity to play a small role in helping. I never thought I was capable of loving another human being because growing up, I never felt any kind of unconditional love or that I was worthy as a human being. I never received any kind of encouragement in any way, shape or form. I thought that sponsoring a child might help me to show love to another human being (and it has). In the past, I've sponsored with other organizations, but hands down, Compassion is my favorite. Even though I don't go to church, I still believe in God and I believe in what Compassion stands for. I currently sponsor 4 boys, two with special needs (baby Francis is my newest, as of today), from the Dominican Republic. With such a focus on girls and women today, and I know that's important, I don't want to see the boys get left behind. So thank you, Compassion, for the wonderful work you do and for allowing someone like me to help in a small way.
