Hi! I'm Jasmine and I'm 16 years old and I sponsor a little girl through this program. Ever since I got my part-time job this year I've felt a calling to do something with my money other than spend it on myself; therefore, I looked into some different things but when I saw this site and browsed through the kids I immediately felt an instant connection to Odalis, so after only sponsoring her for about 3 months I've decided I want to look into jobs here for when I get older! I always knew that I wanted to change children's lives, so I considered teaching but this program has really made me grow closer to God and my calling. Anyways I was wondering about what exactly the jobs were in this program and what kind of education level you would need. I would really enjoy traveling and going to different countries to teach children about the love of God and all sorts of the things Compassion does. Not really sure what I want to do but this seems like an amazing program to work for and I would like to know what the job includes. Also what kind of volunteering is done here? I think I'd enjoy volunteering as well. Thank you so much!

Jasmine, thank you so much for giving sacrificially as a teenager to your sweet little girl, Odalis! It truly sounds like you have seen the blessings that come through sponsorship, and that the Lord has given you passion for children and a heart for our ministry! You remind me so much of myself at your age :)! I would encourage you to visit our career page to learn more about what working for Compassion looks like. Almost all of our positions do require you to have a college degree, but we also have internships for students who are finishing up their program as well! I'd encourage you to look into both! Though we do not send volunteers to the countries we work in, we do offer volunteer opportunities for sponsors to get involved with in their areas. It sounds like you've already had quite an amazing journey as a sponsor yourself, and I know prospective sponsors would love to hear how much sponsorship has impacted you and Odalis! To find out more about volunteer opportunities, log into your online account and click on "My Advocacy" on the left side of the page :). God's preparing you to do big things, Jasmine, and I cannot wait to see what He has in store for you!
