Hi! We just started sponsoring a child on Christmas and we are beginning to put together our first letter. Now I’m realizing all of the restrictions. I understand that it’s better for compassion if we don’t mail paper gifts with all letters, but we’d like to include them with our first letter. We have so many questions, so very grateful for all help. So here’s my first question: my husband is a painter and we’d like to send a watercolor on paper. What’s the best way to ensure the actual physical paper with the painting reaches our child? Do I need to write my letter on the back to make sure it is included in the physical mailing and not just scanned? Or make it into handmade folded greeting card? Will that reach her? Also, we might like to add perforations to our painting to punch out a matching game. How do we make sure it isn’t held up or cancelled because it’s a “paper craft”? Should we just print dotted lines so that she can cut them out instead? Second question: If we send a pop up card, should we leave it blank to make sure it gets physically sent? Finally, how many pages would it be if we send a letter with a painting on the back, a front and back page of photos, a pop up card, and a sticker sheet? 4? Or 5? We are finding the page count to be confusing. Thank you very much to anyone who can offer guidance :)
