I have a friend who is also a Compassion sponsor who started sponsoring a couple of months after I did. He has received picture magnets of his sponsored child. I have tried to e-mail to request this but do not believe it went through correctly. I'm writing because I would like to received picture magnets of my sponsored children as well. Also, how often can we get pictures of our sponsored children & possibly their families, cultures, etc.?

Laura, I am another sponsor. I have never seen the picture magnets, but what I do is put the child's photo in a 4x6 acrylic magnetic photo frame (I found mine at Walmart). Works great!

Hi Laura! The photo magnet I think you are talking about was part of a special engagement piece that went out to a select group of sponsors. I am so sorry that you weren't part of that group. Regrettably, we are not sending these magnets out any longer, but Beth's suggestion is a great alternative! Companies like Shutterfly also give out freebies often that occasionally include free magnets. I'd encourage you to check out a few options like these :). Compassion updates child photos between every 18-24 months, but that is only of the child's official Compassion photo. If you send a gift to the family of your sponsored child of $60 or more, Compassion does take a photo of the gift, often including some of the family members that were around when the photo was taken, and sends it to you with a special thank you letter.

Thank you for the response back. Has the issue of the time between letters been resolved?

Hey Laura! Can you explain what you mean by that a little further? Do you mean it was talking a long time to hear back from your children? We did implement a new letter system last year that has helped speed up the letters to and from children.
