We
received a very nice letter from Harouna Nandnaba (BF031600279) yesterday, July 18, for which we are grateful. But it came with an all-too-familiar photo, a duplicate of one we received in December. Disconcerting.
In the letter, Harouna thanks us for a gift but makes no mention of what was purchased. The photo is the exact same one sent to us in December. The tint is a tad different and someone added a flowery border to it this time, but when I put both photos side by side, there is no doubt whatsoever it is the same photo in every detail.
We don't know which gift he means. We don't have any idea why they would send us the same photo again, four months later. Maybe the following summary will assist you in making some sense of this for us.
We sent a $75 family gift 8/8/2016, a $25 birthday gift 9/26/2016, and a $100 family gift 9/28/2016 to give as much as we could early on in the sponsorship. December 4, we received a very nice letter and photo, thrilling our hearts to know he and the family were able to get a lot of food and clothes with the money. Prior to April 20 of this year, we sent a family gift and child gift together for a total of more than $100. (I can't look up the exact date and amount online due to glitches in system). Now in July, we receive a thank-you for "the gift" and a copy of the December photo.
We had assumed the December letter and photo was in reference to the August and September gifts. We weren't expecting a thank-you and photo for the April gifts this soon, but since it has been 3 months, we thought it possible. If so, we should have received a new photo and some indication how they were able to use the April money. We like sharing in their joy and knowing we're helping him and his family.
Which gift is being referenced in the July letter, and why did they send us the December photo, albeit with a floral border face-lift? Please can you solve this mystery for us?
Thank you in advance for all your help. --Kathleen Young
